I use this at work under my desk. It works great and I love that I can get a workout/burn calories while I am sitting all day at work. It folds up and is easy to store. I highly recommend it. Even my coworkers who laughed at me at first tried it and now want to get one too!
I purchased this for my step-father who is recovering from a stroke. It is just enough resistance for him and is really helping him to exercise in the living room whilst otherwise just sitting there. My mother loves it cause it folds away. Got them a rubber mat for the wood floors so it doesn't slide as he has less control. Great price as well!!
I heard of this item from a friend. Then was able to see her use it. I thought on my that looks cheap and would not work out very well. However I did look one up. It only cost $25. So I thought I try it! Very much to my surprise it is a good item to add for my home gym! It is small and can be used on the floor while i am watching tv! Then after 30 mins I can put it on the TV tray. Use it as an upper bike for the arms! It a great item to raise the heart rate! Both for the legs and the arms! So I have spent $25 for this item, $8 for the ball and the price of the kettle bell! For around $50 I have a great work out gym at home that does not take up much room in our small home! I really like all three items!
I love this cycle! It totally fits the purpose! Whether I'm sitting at my desk working or sitting watching TV, I get a quick mini workout and feel great. You can move it around anywhere in the house. It's light weight, no assembly required, and has a timer. I haven't used it for my arms, but I'm sure it'll work the same way.
Does a good job. Just wish it did not slide away so much. Works well for me since I can't ride a bike due to a stroke. I just sit on my porch and pedal away. Great fun too with the breeze blowing in my hair, the radio on and I am free to "ride" and watch the ducks on the pond and the birds in the trees
Got this last week and there really isn't much you have to do to put it together. Just clip on the meter and screw in the tension handle. I tried it out right away and found when going slow there was a jerk or a catch. When going faster the jerk seemed to disappear. The problem I had was I should have taken it slower because since using both my knees (which are arthritic) really hurt and they haven't gotten better. Maybe I will go back and try it slower. Today I visited my friend in a rehab facility and went with her to her therapy session. There was a woman there using a cycle with her arms that looked just like this. Only difference seemed to be the meter was larger. We later went to another therapy room and a lady was using the exact same thing for her legs. The cycler was sitting on a hardwood floor and there must have been a problem with it slipping because someone had placed a 10# weight on the front bar. The lady did not seem to have a problem with it slipping on the floor but she did use this slowly and I could see the jerk. It seems to me this must be a very good cycler since this model is being used in a physical therapy facility. I intend to start using it again but at a slower pace until I can build up my legs. I recommend this but use with caution.
I love how I can easily store this away under my desk at work. It's perfect for those times when I'm stuck in a boring teleconference, which seems to be happening a lot lately. Might as well get in some exercise! The item is well-made, if I had to complain about something it's that the pedal motion is a bit jerky. Don't expect the same smooth action as an exercise bike costing 10-20x more. Also, I can't get the resistance high enough for my liking, but I have very strong legs and this is a moot point for the elderly or those in rehabilitation. Mine doesn't slide around on our short-pile office carpeting, I've been pedaling for half an hour and it hasn't budged. I don't regret this purchase and would recommend it to any cubicle dweller chained to his or her desk. PS: I also bought one for my87-year old dad, he loves it and uses it while watching TV, looking out the window, or just daydreaming. Without this device, he'd get NO exercise at all since he can't walk very far.
It's not some wonderful exercise bike. It's just a little thing that sits on the floor, and you pedal. The resistance is non-existent, but you're paying relatively nothing. those that say it gives them a cardio workout, I'm a little worried about. I kind of forgot I was even doing it, so, no cardio what-so-ever!! Bottom line is, it does what I need it to do, and that's work my knee. I paid $24.99, I didn't really expect much.
Preparing to bring my wife home from a rehab center and they recommended buying one of these to help with her arm and leg strength building. They use a non folding version of this at the center. I was amazed at how low the price point was and it's made by the same company. Cons: While it works great, the need to fully un-screw a knob, move the leg then fully screw in the knob in order to fold or deploy the folding leg is kind of a pain. I think it'd be better to have a spring latch or spring pin that could be pulled to fold. Even if that bumped the price point $5 it'd be worth it. The timer is a little on the cheap side, but I really didn't expect there to be an included timer so it's still a plus.
I purchased this item after knee replacement surgery and help me bend my knee and it has worked great. In the morning when my knee is stiff after sleeping I use the cycle to loosen up the knee. I start by sitting it close to me and rotating it one direction and then the other without going all the way around. Kind of a rocking motion. After a while I move it further away and peddle like a bike. This has worked great so far.
