People talk about the color well look at the box they are rubbed with a natural bromelain pineapple juice to activate the enzines bring out a better taste so they are dark works great on a forman grill or in a pan they are good and taste great individual wrapping and just the size a person should eat not too much.
Walmarts best kept secret! These loons leaving bad reviews don't know how to read, let alone cook a steak. Bought a box to take a chance on them after reading these reviews, and I (and hubby) am SO happy I did! Feeding a family of 5 isn't cheap, and with inflation, I've had to get creative when making meals. I bought these with my last Walmart order and threw them in the freezer. Valentines' day came and I pulled them out to make the husband a nice meal, let them thaw for a few hours, rinsed them off and seasoned them, and threw all 5 of them in my Gourmia all-in-one digital air fryer/roaster/oven/rotisserie/dehydrator thingy for 8 minutes (also bought from Walmart and has changed the way we cook, it's AWESOME!), served with fried potatoes, onions and mushrooms on the steak, and a salad, and my husband said it was the best steak he's ever had, and we have eaten at some of the finest restaurants you can name. Perfect portion and made a filling meal with the sides i made for everyone. These steaks are tenderized in bromelain, which is the reason for the color when they thaw. They are the perfect portion size, nicely trimmed, good marbling and not a bit of gristle, not too thick or too thin, and the meat melts in your mouth and is so tender you don't even need a knife to cut it; I used my fork to cut it up, it was tender and fall apart. It is NOT "mystery meat" like one review said, it is legit ribeye and I will be buying several boxes my next trip. Fools have been throwing away perfectly good steaks and don't know how to do an internet search for bromelain. If you're that picky, donate them to your local homeless shelter or take them back for a refund, don't throw them in the garbage! Probably leaving bad reviews so other people don't catch on and the prices shoot up!
thought i would try this box of ribeyes. they are small but very tender. i fixed them on my Pit Boss Smoker and they turned out very good. each steak is individually wrapped, they were a dark red in color, like they were farm raised, they had very little gristle. I will be buying them again. The price is good too just 15 dollars.
I see a few bad reviews on these steaks. Were you expecting Ruth's Chris Steakhouse? For about $3.20 you get a 4 oz steak. If hungry, eat two. With prices today this is fantastic deal. And it's real steak!! Not chopped up processed stuff. This allows me to enjoy a steak very affordably.
Small, poorly trimmed steaks. Good thing they were "tenderized", for they still provide excellent exercise for jaw muscles. Butcher's rejects. The only way they can sell them is by hiding them in a sealed box.
Box says 5 individually packaged steaks in box. Mine only had 4 except one of the steaks wasn't a steak, it was a bag of meat goo. The remaining steaks were mushy. The box said the steaks were mechanically tenderized. It also mentioned several chemical additives. They need to stop using this process. Do not buy this product
I've NEVER written a negative review for my Walmart purchases. HOWEVER, this product was HORRIBLE!!! The frozen packages looked spoiled and refrozen. When defrosted, the meat looked like and had the texture of liver. Still not convinced to disgard this, I cooked and sampled this mystery meat. The defrosted meat did not cook like normal when I sauteed it with butter and garlic. The pan filled with liquid, but strangely, the meat did not quickly cook. Eventually, I attempted a sample an the end results are MY STOMACH IS STILL UPSET WITH ME!!! DON'T DO IT!!!
I should have read the reviews. it was our Christmas dinner, they were black, slimy and stunk. please don't buy..someone one who doesn't understand beef safety would have eaten that and got very sick.. walmart do better.
The ateaks were no good, they smelled foul and stunk had to throw both boxes away getting ready to see if I can get a refund, bought them on December 1st, 2022
WOW absolutely awful Walmart. Must have been cleaved from a downed road kill cow. The worst meat from a 1st world country I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten fermented shark in Iceland. For those who know know! Tough gross discolored smells horrible. Might have been defrosted and refrozen.
