I didn't rate the battery life as I've not had it long, BUT it is really heavy and durable. It charged up quickly, has a light attached if using in the dark. My son LOVES it! He wants to switch mine for his EverReady (but it AIN'T gonna happen!) The cable cords are a decent length. Only downfall is that It didn't include an adapter which is not problem as I've ordered one. I'm pretty happy with it!
This replaced a no-name similar product. It lasted a few years and the battery died. The batteries cost almost as much if not more than the product so keep that in mind. The Stanley version is significantly better than my old one (mostly). The old one had 2 cig adapter plugins. This one only has one. The Stanley has a USB port to charge cell phones, phones and tablets. So that is a step up. The little LED light is not much but really it is better than my old one because at least you can AIM this one. Plus the old no-name was incandescent. The main thing I like about this one is the simple ON/OFF switch to use the battery jump start feature. My old one had a couple of momentary buttons to push to get it to work (sometimes). This Stanley has already had to jump a car which it did with no problem. I use this also as emergency backup power. When severe storms are nearby this makes a great source of power to run our 12V TV from so we can watch the radar while we are in hiding. So far this is a great product. Hope the battery lasts! :)
I had researched everywhere trying to locate information on the internal battery. I found once place that indicated the internal battery was 22 AH. That sold me on buying the unit. Well I wanted to know what size battery was actually inside. It comes with a SEL CB19-12, 12V 19AH internal battery. That is still a good size battery. I found a site that claims the replacement is a 22AH battery. I wanted this jump charger without the compressor. I wanted it for power usage only for charging my music devices and running portable devices while camping and during power outages in the home. I yet to really use it, but I feel it will handle my demands in the field. Charging with the 12VDC cords is not to charge over 5 hours, it’s not automatic, the AC charger is only 500mAh so will take longer to fully charge it. When first get the unit it showed fully charged, but they want you to charge it for 24 hours, no problem… I like the size and the light on the side is okay, just more a gimmick, I guess if your hands were busy filling a tier it could be handy… Oh the USB port is ran by a switch and is only 5VDC - 500mAh. The 12VDC cigarette outlet is rated for only 5AMPS and isn’t switched; I wish it was rated for 15AMPS… I wish companies would offer more details to electronics. I hope I was helpful to those that like specs.
I had park my Toyota Prius for almost seven month and when I tried to start it of course it was dead I had tried to start it with other type of chargers couldn't start it when I used the Stanley 1000 it start it in minutes.
i have an old chevy with a dead battery that i just start up to keep the oil stirred and this has started it at least 11 times and still had juice in it! good handy tool.
I didn't need this, but thought it might be a good thing to have in an emergency. I was right, a week after buying this, my wife's car had a dead battery. I used this and the car started right up. A good thing to have when you need it.
I was getting ready to take my Mom to the store and BAM, car wouldn't start. I pulled the charger out of my trunk and hooked it up to my vehicle. The car was up and running in seconds. I love it. Get it, u won't regret it. ^_^
Jumped my lawn mower on a very cold day. Got it started right away with plenty of power to spare, according to the power meter. Have not tried on an auto yet but expect good results. Have not used the accessories connectors yet either.
When I got it I charged it up as the directions specified. Our farmall tractor had a dead battery. Tried to use the jump starter and it turned it over for about 4 seconds then died . Did not have enough power to continue. Use my truck to jump start the tractor
After reading the instructions for the starter, I charged it for 24 hours immediately upon getting it. It did take the charge, but did not hold it. I tried again a couple times, with the same result. I've returned it and will be purchasing a different brand.
