Recieved this as a promo but have used it so much have purchased another for the house. It fits perfectly into my rolling toolbox and is a nice complement to my flat bar. . Much beefier then a flat bar for light demo and stubborn tasks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My guys thought it looked a little thin, but on a current job removing some walls on a renovation, Mike and Nick complained that Billy bob would not them use it! Says a lot when grown men argue over who uses it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I got this about 2 weeks ago and have already used it to help take out some rotten deck boards. Didn't have any problems with getting under the nails and pulling them out. My new go to tool for getting nails out. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I own flat bars, crowbars, and hybrid tools which incorporate crow'sfeet, saw blade wrneches etc. This Stanley 17 inchoffset ripping chisel offers some unique features. The sharp leading edges allow for easy penetration between boards for quick demo. The 90 degree offset of the ends addes travel range to the lever. The 17-inch length increases leverage. A tough tool which is compact enough to fit in the average toolbox. Good bang for the buck. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I used the tool while wrecking gypsum board and plywood this week. The slots for pulling nails at both ends are very convenient. The sharp chisel points made it easier to get beneath hail heads and firmly attached sheet materials. The length and weight is excellent for my purposes. Very sturdy and strong. It does take a little bit to get use to because of the offset of the flat and hook but, I believe this was done for more leverage. It worked great for pulling down plaster and lathe and, as with other Stanley tools, the yellow color makes it highly visible. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I really cannot say enough great things about this offset ripping chisel. Not only is this thing the amazing quality and strength that I love from Stanley, but the design is unbeatable. The 90 degree angle, combined with the 17 inch length, provided a great amount of leverage and ease for me to use quick and effectively. (I am 6'3) With this tool, I was able to rip apart a pallet in about ten minutes. This tool was very effective in helping me to complete necessary clean up on the job site in a timely manner and without extra strain. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this tool about a month ago and have put it through the ringer ripping out trim, subfloor and much more while remodeling my house. The tool feels great in my hands and feels to be the perfect length to get the right amount of leverage. My only small complaint is that the paint on the back of the tool has begun to chip away a little bit but this isnt a surprise because I was using a metal framing hammer on it to get underneath the stuff i was removing. I have used this ripping chisel for years, and just received a newer version of the model I have used for so long. It is a great tool for demolition of wood carpentry for remodeling. I have used it quite a bit in this capacity. It is also good as a general duty prybar and I keep on in my toolbox in the truck of my vehicle for that purpose as well. Used this to take up the wooden deck boards. It work fairly well but used the Stanley Wonder Bar more due to some of the way the deck boards were installed. Can't go wrong having this in your tool bag also! It came in handy to have it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
