Extremely usable
I have owned this for a while. Perfect tool to have for a homeowner who is not a professional. Great to ustulize a single tool and not have to own multiple variations. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Needs work.
I bought this as interim bench plane to use while I restored my grandpa's No. 5 and almost immediately I was disappointed. I don't know whose idea it was to combine the depth and lateral adjustments but it isn't at all practical. You need to stop work and spend a lot of time dialing it in. No chipbreaker and the throat is awfully large. Even after I tuned it in there was still some chattering. Very disappointed in this Stanley tool. Its no longer is in my collection of woodworking planes instead I use for rough work in carpentry.

Bad blade
I had a similar problem as other people, first time I used it the blade chipped. Wish I could find my old Stanley plane, it was great.

Not good
I've had this for a few years and never been able to get a descent shaving from it. Ive tried tuning the thing and it helps, but its still junk. My other stanley planes are great.
