I love camping and I hate instant coffee. I won't have to sacrifice my daily freshly brewed coffee on our next trip. This percolator features a removable silicone grip that you take off for heating and slip on once you've removed it from the heat source and are ready to pour. The pot is sturdy and all of the components including the stem come out so it's incredibly easy to clean. For my test, I used some basic ground canned coffee from the supermarket (so not the super coarse grind that's recommended, but close enough), water at the max level, and a coffee filter to help catch some of the grounds. There were some grounds in the last cup, but I could count the number of grounds in the cup/at the bottom of the pot. It was nominal. The flavor was good. The next time I tried it, I used up some espresso grind coffee and a couple of scoops of the usual grind. It turned out great — better, even. I would recommend using a coffee filter for best results, but I'd definitely recommend this pot.
Pros You get a good amount of coffee The rubber sleeve on the handle is removable for use on a campfire Heats quickly Cons The holes are a bit large so a coffee filter should be used. I had to use a coffee filter to use this. I tried without bit all of the grounds fell through. It works really well with tea bags also. Brew quickly. Strong coffee. Amazing product!
This is the best percolator I have ever used for camping. It is a high quality durable product , stainless steel and BPA free . It holds 1.1 Quart and serves 5-6 people very easy. It has a removable silicone grip, I removed it because I cooked on a open flame. It is easy to handle you can add the grip after cooking if using an open flame. It is very easy to use the directions are very clear, there is a min and max fill line on the inside of the carafe, for easy measuring. The coffee turned out perfect. I cooked on medium for 10 minutes then turned down to low for 5 minutes. I had no grind in the coffee. Overall I highly recommend.
We are seasoned campers and have used a percolating coffee pot for years to make coffee over our camp stove. Unfortunately our coffee pot finally quit on us and we needed a new one. Stanley has never let me down before, so I was excited to give this pot a shot. As I guessed, this coffee pot has not disappointed! The design of the pot is perfect for a cook stove or a fire. The silicone sleeve for the handle is a genius idea because I no longer need to wrap a towel around my coffee pot to pour my morning brew. The pot size is perfect for my husband and I but if you plan to.serve guests, you'll probably want to buy 2! Overall I was super satisfied!!
Very portable no hook ups or anything never seen one of these except on tv I think I can't tell you much about cause I never used one but I'm sure it will come in handy for some to or cocoa the percolator is got a nice rubber Handel can be removed when doing open flame might even work on the gas stove who knows ILike it so far haven't tried it yet been busy but once I do I'll update my review how ever the percolator comes with everything you need to enjoy a hot beverage
Love it. Let's just say that I don't use my electric coffee pot anymore. My coffee has been tasting much better. Way better.
Got this to take camping with us and had test it out. We used it on our fireplace and it worked fantastic We made coffee one night and tea the next and both turned out perfect! Super easy to clean as well.
This coffee pot fits perfectly in my motorhome without taking up counter space. I love that I can use it on my gas stove or on an open campfire because the silicone handle comes off. It is sturdy and doesn't feel cheap and flimsy like the others I tried.
Just came back from a week of outdoorsy time where I used this percolator a couple of times a day on my Coleman propane stove. It brews deliciously and hot. The clear cap let's you time the brew to three minutes and that's that. A silicone removable grip goes on and off easily. Remove to set on an open flame. The stainless steel (18/8) handle is set off enough that it doesn't get hot in the flame of my stove. I didn't need the silicone handle at all. I love everything about it. Very pleasantly surprised at the quality and the price point for this camping percolator .
Last time we went camping we took our coffee pot. It was definitely a pain. So we got this item to take with us instead. It was a lot better than our coffee pot for camping. I would definitely recommend getting one if you need something for camping. It works for coffee, tea, or whatever you want to use for it.
