Big and bulky. Just the way we wanted it! Works like any other chair, allowing those with greater bulk to sit more comfortably in it rather than squished into a smaller chair.
I'm 383 lbs. The typical office chair is neither comfortable or sturdy enough for me. But most Big & Tall chairs are just too pricey... especially to buy online without sitting in it first. But the Driscott chair is sturdy roomy and reasonably priced. And I was thrilled to see the rugged metal base. I hesitated to buy it because I couldn't find what the base was made of in the description. Staples delivered it fast and it was simple to assemble.
I'm 5 foot 6 and all prior chairs kept breaking. It was either the tires or the tire holders. Something always broke. The arm rests and back broke on one chair!!! Then I purchased this chair! And oh my God! I love it. I'd love if it went lower so I could use the benefits of the gas/air shock thing because that makes it easier to get up and down! It's very slightly too high at it's lowest setting. The only other thing I wish I could do is lock the lounging part into position so I wouldn't have to hold it in a lounging position which tires out my legs. One more great idea would be to have the levers that are on the bottom moves to the sides for easier access. I know some heavily overweight folks who have issues with bending over to grab at the levers... all in all this chair feels well made! I am sadly still getting heat rashes on the backs of my thighs and on my bum… I'm wondering if I need to go with a mesh seat “cushion” like what is on the back of this chair... thank you!
I've had it a couple of weeks now. I find it to be very comfortable sturdy and adjustable to meet my needs. I don't know if the chair had anything to do with it but my sciatica nerve issue has lessoned significantly since I started using this chair.
The chair is great for big and tall. Assembly took less than 20 minutes and the instructions were very clear. Seems sturdy so far (I've been using it daily for a week). The chair has swivel tilt adjustable height adjustable arms and a manually adjustable lumbar support. It's very comfortable.
I debated on several different models before I picked this chair but I made the right decision. It is very sturdy and feels like it will last a long time. As for comfort the seat cushion is adequate and supportive. I was a little worried about some of the reviews stating that the seat was way to big and wide but if you have big hips or if you are a wide person this is the size seat that you want.
I fell in love with this chair when I worked at staples. After I left it was no longer sold in stores so I kept looking for it online and waiting to get a good deal on it. That time finally came and I snagged it! My favorite thing about this chair is that it's seat is a little extra wide. The cushion is super soft and the mesh backing helps with airflow keeping me cool. I also really like that the leg part in which the wheels lock into is metal so it can stand up to some abuse better than the plastic ones. Super happy I was able to get this chair.
When I started working from home I realized I needed a great chair for the long days. I am plus sized but well within the ratings this chair is supposed to handle. I bought one in July and by February it had stopped holing it's height settings. This causes me further injury and made for a bad experience. I was sent parts and told to fix it myself. The parts arrived damaged. Clearly just packaged badly as all the broken pieces were inside. I called and a new chair was sent. I have had it less than a week and for the second Time the chair is malfunctioning in the same way. While is super comfortable if you need the height adjustment to get a comfortable setting you are probably out of luck. Appreciate staples refunding my money but still have to hunt up a new chair while I continue to work uncomfortably. Would rate it 5 stars when working properly but 0 when broken.
We already had these chairs before just bought another because they hold up well. Waited until Black Friday for the best deal put it together in about 20 minutes. We can sit in it for hours at a time while we work. It's easy to move around even on carpet and if something happens to a caster they are easy to replace. May they never go out of production!
The chair is easy enough to assemble but it's friggin heavy. And the tiny little Alan wrench doesn't quite do the job well enough to put it together. The back sort of tilts left and right a bit which not a huge deal breaker for me because I move a lot but if you're looking for a chair that doesn't have that wiggle this is not for you.
