These pens are a good buy. The ink does not glob up like other ballpoint pens.
These are the closest match to what Papermate used to make but no longer do. A simple retractable fine point blue ink pen. If I knew the ink wouldn't degrade I would buy a couple hundred of these so I would have them when inevitably they are no longer produced.
Well I've seen these recirculating around my work but in small quantities. They are pretty much impossible to obtain there but I finally tried one out because I've been looking for the perfect pen. Nice grip with the subtle rubber won't get stuck pulling out of your pocket. The clip is loose enough to slip onto your lanyard easy and to slip off if you are doing paperwork on the fly. It writes very well. It's not as smooth as say a zebra 300 series fine ink but as smooth as expected for a fine point versus a medium or bold point. With general writing it writes like a zebra but is much cheaper. I don't get splotchy marks with it unless I draw a couple long lines to N/A a page. That causes a little ink to back up on one side of the pen above the ball but mostly expected with a fine point to do that if you are writing fast. The ink dries fast. It writes on plastic pages. It's smear resistant when it dries and water won't make it bleed. This is from my experience anyways. Overall it's a great pen and I'll continue to buy these over zebra blue pens simply because of its writing quality characteristics price and the fact that it's very light weight. I can't stand a heavy pen on my lanyard putting pressure on my neck(along with keys badge markers etc) and it makes writing easier on the hands. LOVE IT!
I needed some pens that I could use to annotate the books for my AP English class. I have to write in the margins and in between the lines and I needed a pen that had a good quality fine tip. I found these as a 12-pack and I decided I would try them. So far they are even better than I had hoped. I will definitely use these to annotate all the time.
I would recommend this pen. The fine point writes smoothly and the thin rubber creates a nice grip. Because it isn't a gel pen it does not bleed through thin paper.
I use these pens daily in my career job as a health professional and they are great. everybody says hey that's a nice pen: fine good grip where's you get it. So I tell them. GThanks.
This is one of my favotite everyday fine line pens. Makes a nice consistant line that I don't have to fight with. However the tip seems to continually work to unscrew itself. Anoying to have to keep tightening it but the feel and the clean line make it worth it for me. But I wish they would fix that in the design.
Paper has to be relatively clean no skin oils etc. This makes it somewhat unreliable for taking notes in the average day-planner/pocket calendar. It gives a faint clear line that would be perfect for that use otherwise. If the paper is perfectly clean it functions reasonably well. Not bad for the price.
Don't get me wrong I love the Staples Postscript retractable pens with the rubberized outside. I have actually used them for years but they are not durable. I like the feel of the non-slip coating. I like the ridges cut into the lower end which help with control. I like the easily pressed button. I like the even flow of the ink in both blue and black. The problem is that they do not stay together. It may be a month this one was a week but invariably the threading on the upper portion where the rubberized section meets the plastic clicker fails and the pen refuses to remain whole. At one meeting the pen actually flew apart. I have switched the ends tip to tail and that lasts for a few weeks but then fails again. I have taped the treads or the outside but this only lasts for a little while. I am actually one of the few people who keep the same pen until the ink is gone and this makes these pens a huge waste of money.
I have two boxes black and blue ink and most of the pens do not work. I have never had this issue before so must have gotten duds. Hope they can be replaced.
