Polished my aluminum rims very Nicely!

Product did what I needed
My husband uses thus on our Tritoon %26 he is happy with the shine
Great stuff! Used it on my rims and they came out awesome.
I'm going to write this review in regards to the Starbrite cleaner/restorer AND polish. I've read the reviews of others about both of these products. You definitely HAVE to read and follow the directions! Many of the reviews (cleaner) were expecting it to make their project SHINY. PAY ATTENTION! Unlike other things that shine after cleaning, aluminum is the opposite. You CLEAN the aluminum to get the dark spots, haze, or clouds. Yes. It will be clean, brighter, and DULL! That is what the POLISH is for! Interesting concept! Polish makes aluminum SHINY!!! So many of the reviews weren't fair because that person being “mechanically knowledgeable” did NOT read the directions carefully. 1. You don't let the cleaner stay on more than a minute or 2. Second, you thoroughly rinse the item. Third, dry immediately. It's a quick process. That's how you get the best results. I bought both of these products to clean, restore, and polish my mid-century redwood slat aluminum folding chairs. I ended up selling them in a yard sale because I didn't have the time. Then, I had about 10 aluminum baking sheets, cake pans, strainer, and pressure cooker pot that was inherited. Not one of these items was less than 25 years old. They really looked as if they needed to be thrown away as they had NEVER been properly cleaned, restored, or polished. I used the largest cooking sheet as the wash process “basin” -outside, with vinyl gloves. With a sponge, I “washed” each item and never allowed the solution to stay on. The solution that was “caught” by the bottom cooking sheet (basin) can be reused. It will turn brown and smell horrible, but that is the tarnish. The product is doing its job. It took every dark spot, shadow, and discoloration out of all these items. I then rinsed each item carefully with the water hose and dried each item, thoroughly. Next was the polish. I read the directions-TWICE. This product is excellent and must be followed. You have to pay attention or you will re-transfer the tarnish on your cloth back onto the item. I realize there are products specifically for cookware. That is part of my plan. I used the Starbrite for the initial cleaning and polish to get the worst of the tarnish off. Then, follow with a food grade safe aluminum cleaner and polish. BOTH of these products are awesome. They are NOT the same and do two different functions. I don't mind the price because I'm going to follow the directions! My very old cookware is clean and shiny, like new. I won't have to buy new cookware. One of my grandmother's phrases that has stuck with me is: “If you want something to last, you “HAVE” to take care of it. It takes time to take care of things. You have to take the time, to do so. Why own something if you are not going to take care of it? Don't delay in taking care of things. They will ruin beyond use!”
A good product, just did not cut the tarnish like I expected . It took manual effort and still did not remove all the tarnish and water line. But in the defense of the product, the boat had never been cleaned so it had a build up that probably no product could have easily removed. It did a good job, boat looks much better.
Works pretty well!
I didn't have a low-speed buffer so your results may differ. I tried to use the product with the "By Hand" instructions and I saw no difference. The Aluminum Cleaner and a pressure wash after was I'll I needed to bring my all-aluminum Car Hauler back to life. That got me from old and neglected to 80-90% back to original. The polish added nothing appreciable after the cleaning. I gave it to the new owner so if they use it with a buffer and I hear something from them I will update this review As of now I would not recommend this product if you have properly cleaned your aluminum and are polishing by hand.
It works buy juice not worth the squeeze. I used 3.5 cans of 64oz acid cleaner Star Bright and 4 16oz bottles of wax to do outside and back of toon only. 2 bags of rags and over 2 rolls of paper towels. In some cases it took 2-3 Coates of wax to remove the white haze oxidation. I started the project spent 5 hrs and decided to pay my maid $300 to finish. Took 2 full days and ran out of wax. The back of both toons still not completed. Just got 2 more bottles of wax yesterday. When I tell you your fingers, wrists and arms will ache it's no lie. Even my 30 yo maid said she ached the next day. Buffing wheel did not work, not enough pressure. If I took boat off trailer and did inside and out I'd say it will take about 10 bottles of wax and 7-8 of the cleaner. In the future I'll pay a detailer whatever it takes and not try that project again.
