Star Brite Liquid Electrical Tape - Black Vinyl Coating - 4oz Can with Applicator Brush

There are times when electrical tape and heat shrink tubing just won't work. Tight quarters, printed circuits, etc. This stuff can save you. It's a thick black goo that sets overnight into a rubbery mass. No strong solvent smell though it does carry a flammable warning. If you work on electronics projects or computers, this belongs in your tool box.

Let me be upfront: applying this stuff is about as graceful as frosting a cake in a hurricane. The liquid electrical tape gets everywhere, on your fingers, on the wire jacket, on that one spot of your workbench you really didn't want it on. The applicator brush cap is a thoughtful touch, but ease of use is not this product's strong suit. Budget a few minutes for cleanup and just accept that your fingertips are going to look like they lost a fight with a tar pit. The dry time is reasonable. It goes on thick and glossy, then cures down to a flexible, rubbery coating that conforms nicely to irregular shapes and awkward splice geometries that self-fusing tape tends to handle poorly. Once it's fully set, it feels solid and substantial rather than brittle or tacky. The bond and waterproofing are where this product earns its stars. I used it on several outdoor low-voltage landscape wire splices that have since seen rain, sprinkler overspray, and hard frosts. No corrosion, no water intrusion, no failures. For repairs on existing splices where you need coverage that wraps into every gap and crevice, it genuinely outperforms tape. The 4 oz bottle goes a long way. I have done a dozen splices and it is still well stocked. Keep the cap tight between uses or it will skin over.

I build miniature houses and when it comes to doing the wiring for the miniature lamps and other lighting, this product makes it easy.

So much better than using regular electrical tape for wires! for the money you can't beat it long as you keep the can closed a ton cheaper than tape that can go bad and not stick easily

Actually becomes a permanent fix!! Take your time when applying product and you will not be disappointed.

I love this stuff .it can be very messy but it works great!

I'm sure, somewhere, there's a person who never has to use this stuff because everything electronic they do is perfect. But most of us aren't perfect. My spouse and I have used this sticky goo for so many tiny wiring projects and repairs (lightweight combat robotics, arduino projects, Mesctastic/Meshcore routers, etc). It requires a steady hand for the small stuff, but liquid electrical tape is a lifesaver for that "gotta make absolutely sure these dozen 22-gauge wires are electrically insulated from one another, even if the bot takes a solid hit" moment. I'm sure people use it for bigger stuff too... And they can add their own review!
