A movie reel rolling with almost nonstop action that lurid me in and at times onto the edge of my seat as I rode its pivoting roller-coaster from beginning to end. As a long-time Treky since the original series as a boy, this movie has been the best sifi adventure to go on of its kind EVER. Two thumbs up in a row!
Growing up with the original Star Trek and watching how it has gone into several different series on television plus into theatre movies, This one and the one before it "Star Trek", have become my favorites. The actors did such a great job in catching the "original" crew's characters yet put their own edge to it that you can actually see that these young actors have seriously taken on the original actors roles well. Excellent movie to own whether a true Trekkie with the whole collection or just as is though I would suggest buying the one before it, JJAbrams "Star Trek" to enjoy a Friday night or Family night with the newer Star Trek crew, it's worth the ride....
I do love how they are tying the old into the new. Kind of a twist. We know THIS star Trek is the alternative reality (as shown in the first movie) they are still tying the bad guys in very well. No spoilers but you will love when you see who the bad guy is.
I haven't actually watched the movie yet, but I saw it on the "Value Of The Day" for $7.96, and couldn't resist. It will probably end up being someone's Christmas/birthday gift sometime this year. It took much less time to arrive than I was expecting. The expected delivery date was May 5th, and it arrived a week earlier than that, at least.
New Star Trek fans...you will like this movie. Old Star Trek fans (like me)...you will like this movie too, but remember it IS a re-mix. Just roll with the changes and have fun with it.
Ordered this video to pick up from the store nearest me and the video was in perfect condition, ready for pick up on time and at the best price as well!
This 2nd movie of the series of the young members of the crew surprised me with a different angle of a story line. It was a new dimension on all the characters that had me enthralled and fully absorbed into the story line. Excellent action, humor, suspense and entire gammit of emotions.
I'm a big star trek fan, so I loved it.
It was a really good movie. I just was hoping the music would have changed a little bit more. It also seemed to go into a circle which was fun but, a little redundant. Either than that think the movie was great. He should have given Helmsman Zulu a bigger role and express more on that character as well. Either than that everything was great.
Another great Star Trek; the actors are really fine and the story line was fantastic as was the dialogue. Some nice surprises, too. Uniforms were great, effects, even better. The only "fault" I find is in the ending -- much too long with the sound beating of Khan!! Bad Robot --- MAKE MORE!!! Writing, direction and sound are first rate, too.
