Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens (DVD), Walt Disney Video, Sci-Fi & Fantasy

Great film in the continuing saga of Star Wars explains what happens after princess Leia and Luke Skywalker with their separate ways an excellent film.

This is a wonderful film that you will enjoy . It follows the STAR WARS storyline, but you should see the other STAR WARS movies first so you can follow it easier.

And he loved it. I am not a lover of all things Star Wars, but my son is. I ordered the movie online and picked it up at my local Walmart. Great way to shop. I will definitely use that service again.

Actually quite original and the best film I've seen in the last fifteen years. Further, it's a landmark in terms of story and quality with every detail nestled seamlessly into fast and furious story that is perfectly emblematic of what a fan would expect in a seventh installment of Star Wars.

Okay--I've been an avid Star Wars fan since the very beginning. When I heard that there was going to be an Episode VII, I was appropriately excited. Not being able to go to a theater when it came out, I had to wait to buy the DVD. I pre-ordered it and watched it as soon as it got here. And I did like it; I like the new characters, the fact that almost all of the surviving characters were there, but the plot was a lot like the original Star Wars: Young woman captured by the bad guys, rebel good guys take off to rescue her--although she was pretty capable on her own--valuable information hidden inside a droid and sent off to find said good guys, older, wise, much-loved good guy killed in an act of selflessness... Not to say I didn't enjoy it, I was just hoping for something a little more original. It was just a little too predictable.

I saw all the other films. Naturally, I had to see this one. Unfortunately, for me anyway, it was a bit predictable: More special effects than story and where the heck is Luke Skywalker anyway? H. Ford and C. Fisher did not age well at all. Lots of unanswered questions arise in this one without an answer, which means viewers will have to watch the next one to see what happens. That is the type of film, book, etc. I can't stand. Resolve everything in one place. Overall, for those viewers who aren't into the Star Wars, you may not like it. Star Wars fans may love it. I don't know. I just know that I didn't love it. It was just okay.

I was expecting to see a fantastic movie based on all of the publicity and hype that this movie had prior to its debut at the theaters. I can understand why it has gone from $29.99 to $19.99 (which is what I paid), to now $16.99. The acting is sub-par and sometimes very 'corny'. The overall theme is sketchy and jumped all over the place. The picture quality and animation is poor, like watching a VHS film. The characters seem so much out of place and finally, what's up with the ending??? A hint of a sequel? Hopefully not. I have all of the previous Star Wars dvds. This one will be donated. 2 stars is being generous.

Although I love this movie very much, I was really disappointed with this version. This particular dvd of Star Wars The Force Awakens does not come with special features of any kind. Not even previews. I decided to not keep this one, and instead spent just a few more dollars and bought my little Star Wars fanatic the more in depth version, which has plenty of really great special features, like every good film should have.
