This set, which includes an X-Wing and a TIE fighter, it is totally awesome. I previously purchased the Millennium Falcon in this same series, and these fighters are considerably smaller, as they'd be in the actual Star Wars universe. But these models are still quite large, being considerably larger than the Star Wars Starships Select series from Hot Wheels. The X-Wing is actually almost identical in size to the older and much pricier Elite series from Hot Wheels. But that HW model was mostly diecast metal, and this Galaxy Squadron ship is primarily plastic. But it's still very well done (as is the TIE fighter). When Walmart offered this set as a Deal for less than 20 bucks, there was no way I could resist.
Micro Galaxy Squadron is the newest line of star wars collectibles, in the vein of the classic Galoob Action Fleet, and it does not disappoint. Unlike other ships in the line, this one comes with a really cool and customizable display, and I'd say that it's worth it for the display alone-even if you use it with other ships in the line. Highly recommend to any Star Wars fan/collector.
The display stands are a nice addition this is the only set that has them included
I have recently been buying/collecting the Star Wars Micro Squadron toy line from Jazwares that came out in 2022. Except for online (of course), a person pretty much has 2 retail options: Walmart and Target. I frequent both retailers and through my experience, Walmart has a lot LARGER selection than Target. Not only that, they tend to have with cheaper prices as well. I also find that Walmart usually has longer store hours, quicker checkout lines, and do not hassle a person when they try to return something - as long as the receipt for the undamaged/tagged/still-boxed merchandise is present. I do not like the atmosphere/tone when I return something at Target. There, I feel like I am in an interrogation and that I have done something wrong. Given the two options, I would rather shop at Walmart compared to Target. My wife favors Target. Hence why I shop at both ;)
My boys love these toys. For the cost they aren't the best value. We've had three sets (not this set) that either had a broken or bent part that made it non-usable (one of the ships had a bent leg so it couldn't stand up. One character had a cape that wouldn't attach and one character literally had detached legs that wouldn't go back on.) but we've bought a lot of sets of these and haven't had other issues. I did contact the company and they sent me replacement parts after jumping through lots of hoops. Pictures/videos of damage, receipt pics, pics of box, etc, Anyway overall these are over priced for what they are but my kids do really like them. And this particular set I was able to get better than half off on the price so that was a win.
I have always wanted something like this to display in my office. It does come with a nice stand but I decided to just put them on the shelf without it since it takes up much less space overall. Both ships are beautifully made, these are not cheap products. They obviously took great care in making these. Highest recommendation from me!
I thought I was ordering some batteries. I received these Star Wars replicas. I am 73 and my grandchildren are too young for this. I'm sorry
I bought two so I could have a flight of two X Wings and tie fighters on the display stands. Two minor complaints; 1. The display stick articulation is limited and a bit frustrating. 2. The X Wings wings don't fully close together when in the folded position. Good detail on the X Wings pilots and plane. Pretty happy with the purchase.
I wanted this set because Micro Galaxy Squadron is seriously lacking in displays. Unfortunately, the connections are very specific to the X-Wing and TIE and can't be used easily on other designs. The base pegs are hexagonal, so you can't spin them to find a preferred position. The base is light, so some positions easily tip. The value here is in the price of the ships, which many may already have and the display is a bonus. For the current price of under $15, this is an ideal entry to try out this toyline or to give as a gift.
The product arrived, but the contents were damaged.
