I bought this toy as a Christmas present for my 6 year old son. I wasn't sure how much fun it would be. Let me tell you, this toy is a BLAST! It is fairly big...but, lightweight so they can pick it up and fly it around. The plastic is of a study quality. It launches a nerf dart with a decent amount of force...it has lights and sounds when you shoot the additional blasters and the nerf. Makes take off sounds as well as landing sounds when they move it up or down. It has a lever that engages, as well as disengages the hyper drive...when the hyper drive is not engaged the Millennium Falcon will not make the take off sounds...very cool! The section of the back that comes off reveals the inner part of the ship, there are places to put figures, there are pegs for the figures to attach to from their feet..this way the children can create play scenarios without figures falling over. The on off switch on the underside is very nice for quiet play. Takes 2 AA batteries. There are compartments to hold extra nerf darts. There is a sheet of small decals that need to be placed...not too big of a deal! My son absolutely adores this toy...he is a big Star Wars fan. He hasn't stopped playing with it...he even wants to sleep with it. Told me it is the "coolest" toy EVER! This toy is different from the other Star Wars play star ships (X-Wing Fighter, Tie Fighter) in that it makes noise and has lights. Overall this was a hit and a great buy, I can see many years of play ahead for my son. This toy will be one he will want to hold onto even once he grows up! The only negative is I thought for the price point it could be a little less money...or the manufacturer could add a few more compartments and extra buttons for lights and sounds in different areas (like the cockpit or open play area.
Wish the directions were a little clearer, spent to much time trying to read them. Overall the Falcon is amazing my 7 yr old can't get enough of it. Best present this year for her.
Full video review here: https://youtu.be/M6ybGh2yGeo This is the first Millennium Falcon toy I've ever owned and I can't tell you how excited I am to finally have one. I remember growing up and being so jealous of my friends who had the vintage Falcon, mostly kids who had older or younger brothers to share it with. The original Vintage Kenner Millenium Falcon came out around Christmas time in 1979 at a retail price of $29.99, adjusted for inflation this would be about $86.38 in 2015. The reason I use this version as a comparison is based mostly on the size of the two ships being so similar and, of course, for nostalgia. Millennium Falcon Features: - Battery Operated (2 AA batteries) for sound effects and lighting - 4 action buttons: Launch sound effects, Main Nerf dart cannon, Gunner station, and general flying sound effects - Comes with 2 red (unbranded) standard sized Nerf darts (any other standard size Nerf darts will work too) - Storage compartments - 3 cosmetic accessories: Satellite dish, hand gun station, gunner station - Fold out play set (stand) - Action lighting and sounds - Pop up gunner station and Nerf Launching cannon Included Action Figures: This new "Star Wars The Force Awakens Battle Action Millennium Falcon", released in 2015, features three action figures - BB-8 (sand dirty) - Chewie Chewbacca - with communication head set (attached) - Finn (Jakku) - with communication head set (attached)
I have owned every version of the 3.75" scaled Falcon over the years (vintage, POTF2, Legacy Collection gigantic collector-focused one, and now The Force Awakens version). Bought this one for daughter. Yes, she and I really like TLC version (circa 2008/9), but that one is way too large and heavy for her to fly around the house and the legs always snap off. THIS NEWEST VERSION IS PERFECT FOR CHILDREN. The size, scale, weight, and playability features have all been designed with children in mind. Accessories are large enough so as not to easily lose. Daughter and I especially love shooting the NERF darts at a Death Star (disco ball) hanging from the basement ceiling. Don't listen to the 40-50 year old "collector-centric" reviewers on here. Yes, I collect, too, but also purchase items like this for my child and I to play with. I have my Legacy Collection Falcon and now she has something that harkens back to the days when I was a child and toys were for playing with. We highly recommend this product.
This play set will be perfect for your Star Wars fan! The figures are great quality, and the lights and sounds add to the fun. You can even break or repair the hyperdrive. Great buy!
My grandson loved it! He had originally asked for a Lego version (which his brothers already had). This one did not disappoint. It worked as expected and he continues to play happily with it.
Had to get this for my 44 yr old son and his sons. He was given one years ago that he lost when our family was displaced. Cannot wait to see he and his boys playing with this one. Bad or good, it will be great for the memory alone!
It arrived undamaged it seems like a lot of fun, but very small.
Not really impressed with this version of the Millennium Falcon. Hasbro should have just re-released the Legacy version of the Millennium Falcon to go along with the release of the new upcoming movie (The Force Awakens), as it is by far the best version of this Star Wars craft to date. Hasbro did a superb job with that one.
We got this for our 41/2 and 8 year old boys - after about 30 minutes of play, it was relegated to the back of the closet with a broken antennae and top hatch that goes over the "nerf" gun. The younger one was more interested in it's play features where the older was not impresed. He said he liked his old galactic heroes one better. After two weeks the only play it has gotten was as a "crashed ship" their rc 4x4's could crawl over. Waaaay over priced for what you get.
