Super cute

Presley1 December 29, 2016

This is a cute little robot. We ordered it for our daughter (8 years old) and she loves it! It seems to maneuver easily around the house. We have hardwood floors and it glides easily. We have a large area rug, and it also seems to move around easily on it as well. My only disappointment is the size. I was really expecting it to be a little larger for the price. I was so excited to find it online and it was available for same day pick from our local Walmart that I did not pay attention to the dimensions, so that is my fault. My daughter didn't complain about the size and she is happy with it!

Great Toy

dalucia December 27, 2016

Bought this toy as a Christmas present for my 4 1/2 year old. He loves it. I chose this particular one over the app driven one because then he would be able to use it whenever he wants. It is very easy to control and he has a blast with it. We do not have problems with the head staying on. It is a bit odd turning it off, you have to hold it upside down for a few seconds. All in all it was a great buy.

Upgrade the magnets and speed

DaddyDon December 19, 2015

Second attempt at a review, since Walmart doesn't seem to get along with Safari on my iPad Mini. Anyhow, bought this for my seven-year-old son as a B-Day present. He loves it, but does get frustrated with BB-8's head constantly falling off. Inasmuch as we have three pets and fur does get attracted via static electricity to BB-8's surface (which doesn't really need to be a bas-relief map of the Rockies, but is), the magnets that keep the head on need to be stronger, along the lines of those on the Sphero version, which *I* own (that model is also a LOT faster). Saying that, for the age at which the Hasbro version is targeted, it's an excellent toy for the young Star Wars fan. It's also substantially bigger than the Sphero, so should you HAVE both, you can say the Hasbro is the "better" one. Should Hasbro decide to upgrade the head magnets and boost the speed at least somewhat, it would easily get a five-star rating from me and parents everywhere.

Good Purchase

thatwaseasy January 5, 2016

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 9 year old. The only negative thing I could say is the head falls off too much, perhaps a stronger magnet would have helped. This toy is interactive and I think I like it more then my son!

Cute but has a few quirks

Mamato2 January 11, 2017

My 7 year old daughter loves it. It goes on our carpet with no problem. The magnetic head doesn't always stay put though. Also to turn it off you have to take it apart, there is no switch in the outside or on the remote. I'd probably still buy it though.

Just OK

JTHT December 24, 2016

Based on the many reviews I would agree the head popping off and less than smooth roll is annoying. Overall, think the little guy still enjoys it but we'll see how long it takes till he gets frustrated after the new toy euphoria wears off.

Piece of junk

Dissatisfied October 30, 2016

The head falls off constantly, which is a major problem because the head determines the direction the droid while you're attempting to control it with the remote. So it's never really possible to control this hunk of junk when the head falls off all the time. This thing is great in theory, but horrible in reality. Bottom line is: This isn't the droid your looking for. Move along.

Not worth the money

Chillmirg December 9, 2016

Bought this for my son for Christmas, returned it without giving it to him. I took it out to test it, and it is cheap and barely works. Do not buy this...

Disappointing

Sammy January 1, 2017

The worst Christmas gift of the year. Once the toy got moving it was out of range within a few feet then went to sleep. The movements were painfully slow and didn't respond well to the controller. The head kept falling off and you have to make sure the battery compartment is fully locked or it will come open. This is not always as straight forward as you would think. I would only give this as a gift to a kid I didn't like
