Stargate (DVD)

Great story. Clean movie from a time not that long ago. They made better movies back then.

This is a classic, one of the best of all time. Not only a unique concept, but breath taking special effects. The movie that launched the Stargate franchise.

My family and I like all aspects of this movie including the cast (Kurt Russell & James Spader), the storyline, and the special effects. This is one DVD that you can watch periodically and not be bored with or tired of.

For $5.88 you can't go wrong on this movie, it's the one that started them all (series that is). The Ultimate Edition is definitly the way to go as it includes (in the movie) additional scenes, no extra menu items to select. Just press play, sit back and enjoy.

Don't get me wrong, I love "Stargate" the movie and would give this DVD 5 stars all the way across if it wasn't for the issues I have with this particular release. - This "Ultimate Edition" advertises a featurette, ""The Making Of 'Stargate'" - Includes Never-Before-Seen, Behind-the-Scenes Video and Archival Photographs, and Interviews With Design and Production Team Members; Production Notes; Cast and Crew Information." (copied and pasted from the product information). Not on the one I received! There is only one special feature, besides the commentary track, and that is "Is There a Stargate?". That's it. There were no production notes, no cast and crew information, no theatrical trailer, nada. - There was no option for English subtitles in the setup. Seriously, nearly every DVD released in Region 1 format has an English Subtitle option for the hearing impaired, but not this one! - The DVD skips and stops frequently. I tried it in both my regular DVD player and on my computer with the same result.
