StarTech 1.5g Metal Oxide Thermal CPU Paste Compound Tube for Heatsink, Silver

The cpu fan was racing out of control because of a temperature problem. It turned out the themal paste for the heat sinc had dried out. The application of new themal paste fixed the problem.

Performed a reflow on my GPU. Used Star Tech Thermal Compound during reassembly on both the GPU and the CPU. Used only half of the tube. Good product. I'm well pleased.

Probably not the best compound out there, but nowhere near as expensive as others. I put some on my new CPU, GPU, and heat sink and still had about half the tube left. (you don't completely coat it, it spreads easily) The consistency out of the tube was perfect: not too thick, not too runny. Probably a combination of this and my faster CPU have my system running about 10 degrees Celsius cooler than before.

The StarTech 1.5g Metal Oxide Thermal CPU Paste Compound Tube for Heatsink works great for a cheap fix. How it will hold up after time we'll see. Temps dropped about 5 F. Not a huge amount but enough to let you know it's working. I've been using it about a month now with no rising in temps. Site to store shipping took awhile. I would buy this again. there is enough in the tube to do 4 or 5 CPU's or easily all the heatsinks on a normal computer. It's not a really thick firm paste, but not thin by all means. A decent thickness that works without alot of wiggling to spread it out. I used about a medium green pea size drop in the center of the chip.

I needed this because I took apart my PS3 (after warrenty expired of course). It worked exactly as expected. The only draw back was that it had just enough in the tube so I had to make sure I didnt make any mistakes when applying it. But overall this item worked great.

Lappy was shutting down after minutes of operation due to overheating because of fried up heat compound. I used this one and the lappy works like new now!

bought this item to use on my computer parts and it worked great. It really looks like a great quality paste, which I think it is and it cost me only close to 10 bucks. Would recommend it to anyone!!!

This thermal paste is good value and worked fine for an overheating laptop I was fixing up. I would recommend this one.

Compared to the thermal paste that comes on stock coolers this stuff seemed to help lower the cpu temperature down a little more, the one con I can see is it does seem a little thin

Did a super job. It took about 10 min to bond after I rebooted, then temps fell!
