Functions Exactly as Expected
[Employee of walmartcanada] I switched from a full-sized laptop to a smaller netbook-style machine as my primary computing device, only to realize that I had no VGA port available. I purchased this StarTech adapter and it worked perfectly. I am able to use a 2nd monitor without issue, and the device itself seems to be of good quality, not affected by wear and tear so far.

Just Works!
I've been hearing about other people having compatibility issues with other brands on both macs and PCs. So looking through the web, I find that Startech Mini DisplayPort to VGA had the best success rate in working in both PCs and Macs. I've the latest Alienware M14 notebook and it working the first time without even adjusting any settings. Thanks StarTech!

Solved the problem
I bought a Dell XPS 13 with the mini display port and needed an adapter to hook to projectors. The one sold by Dell kept turning off the external display. The Startech adapter does whatever is needed and the external display is always on. Thanks!

Excellent product, easy to use.
I was disappointed when my new laptop I bought didn't have a VGA port. This product allowed me to use my second monitor again, and requires no installation and so east to use! (just plug it in!)

VGA connection is too short to use screw connectors on connection, but the part works well at this time.
