Onboard Ethernet went out on my motherboard. This was a quick, cheap replacement for it. Plug in, update drivers and it was good to go.
I main complaint is the amount of time it took to get here. My tracking showed item had been sent, and when it arrived at walmart distribution center in Sutherland VA, and it took 4 days to make the 60 mile trip from there, to my store...thats terrible ! USPS is faster than that ! if this review is deleted or not shown, its because I had NEGATIVE comments about their delivery of my item
Anyone could install this network card, and it was as easy as plug in to motherboard port, hook everything back up, and wow were up and running again! Would recommend this product to anyone....had never used this brand and was sceptical, I work on computers or at least my own, and this is an exceptional part. and was easy to order!
StarTech 10/100/1000 32-Bit card worked as expected and installed with no problems-I can now access internet speeds Higher than 500mbps although right now I'm settling for 150mbps for both download and upload thanks to Verizon.
I replaced 100mb Network cards in ten WinXP PCs with the StarTech 10/100/1000 cards, and the upgrade went great. All the drivers installed no problem, and the response time improvement on the network was exactly as I hoped - lightning fast!
Computer/internet worked as soon it was started. Easy to install no hassle. Computer is an HP running Windows 7. Not planning to upgrade it Windows 10.
I needed a cheap replacement network card for my Linux box after a lightning storm fried my on board network adapter. Worked perfectly. It's not a gigabit, but since it's just for my internet connection, that's not a big deal.
THE PRICE WAS RIGHT FOR THE PRODUCT FOR MY COMPUTER. I HAVE AN OLDER DESKTOP COMPUTER AND I NEEDED A CARD TO USE WITH MY NEW ROUTER. IT WORKED GREAT. THE CARD WAS EASY TO INSTALL WITH A CD. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS.
Replaced old slow LAN on my ancient Dell. Comes with Driver CD but no instructions, leaves you to figure out what driver it is. You will find it in the ExpressCard\RTL81XXX\WINXP folder. Downloads and updates are so much faster now with this product.
This is your standard, good old fashioned pci ethernet card. It will get you up to a 100 mbps but not 1000. I doubt if you can get that kind of speed on a standard pci bus. For that you have to go to pci express. I know because I have both kinds. I guess they figure they have to say 1000 to sell it nowadays. Not necessary. If you have an old computer, this card will work just fine and is good value for the money.
