I bought the powder to make a muscle rub with it works very well. The grade of powder is good, no clumping. I would recommended this to anyone that would use this product.
We have all noticed the quality of so called average supermarket spices and herbs have lost flavor and strength while research reports we need to be using them for health benefits far beyond the flavor in cooking. I liked the concept of finding something better. I've shared this product w friends and we all find it excellent in all depts
This is a very good product!
Starwest offers a quality cayenne packaged in a resealable pouch. As soon as you open this pepper the fresh aroma tickles the nose. The color is a bright redish orange and the consistency is light and airy. Added to your dish / drink of choice it will melt on contact and give the entree the desired spicy heat your pallet will sever and come back for more...
The product is great, and so was the price. The problem came when I went to reseal the nice foil package it would not reseal, I had to use a cloths pen to close it up and then put it into a plastic bag to keep fresh. I dont know if this was a clitch in this one bag or if there all like that.
I did A LOT of reading on cayenne before ordering. Primarily, I bought this to use with maple syrup and a real lemon and water, as a cleansing tool. I also have gotten into the habit of putting a little bit of this cayenne powder into most everything I eat or drink. This is very hot, so all you do need is a little bit. When I add this to even a smoothie, my intent is not to make it hot, and not even to taste it. Rather, I know that if all the other flavors mask the little amount I add so that I don't even taste it, that my body WILL KNOW that it is there. Kind of the same principle as a capsule of this would be, but if I do just the right amount so that I barely know it is there, it really augments the other flavors of the item I am eating or smoothie I am drinking. One other thing! I noticed that some people rated this down on "Convenience". I have my own solution! I poured the whole contents of the bag into a 1 quart glass canning jar! It has a tight lid, and it looks very pretty, very attractive on the counter. You don't need a "canning" jar, though this was. It is vintage and has ornate swirls of clear glass, so turned out ideally! Zero problems on convenience here.
A real nice cayenne powder with good flavor. It is so hot that I am actually starting to sweat just from thinking about it haha!! Added a tsp to a large pot of chili and it about blew me away! As others have stated, the bag does not seal, so plan on using a clip or something else for it.
Organic Cayenne comes in a mylar bag and is fresh, fresh, fresh. It is also hotter than the cayenne from the grocery store. It has a slight sweetness to it. Buy it if you can stand the heat!
Fine
1lb...........one pound of cayenne powder! This cayenne powder in my opinion, is excellent quality for the price, is hot, as cayenne should be, and is also organic. I have so much, that I gave some to my dad and am considering who to give some to next. Don't get me wrong, I like this stuff, I just don't think I can use all of this before it expires on my own. I would reccommend keeping friends and family in mind when buying this, because there is a lot to go around, just bear in mind the heat factor and not to take too much at one time. Also, importantly, I suggest to ask someone credible and look up if cayenne is safe for you or whoever you want to give some cayenne powder to if they or you have a health condition.
