you must be brave for this one: soak it over night : a spoon for a cup of this herb with any other complimentary herb/s; in the fridge over night, (blender ready) in the morning blend it smooth. never heated, natural, raw: a challenge to your nerdy taste buds. not for the faint of heart; try with stevia/chia/fiber/protein(go beyond shakes)nuts/spices(I don't cook my green tea blends: all goes smoothies; love blender action) my very own shakes keep my friends coming back.

These milk thistle seeds were some of the purest I've ever purchased. There is very little foreign matter (i.e. other seeds, twigs, rocks) and they require very little time sorting compared to MT seeds I've bought from every other outlet, including my osteopath's office. The seeds also taste very fresh. I am impressed.

Milk thistle seeds work for me, they eliminate the discomfort I sometimes feel after eating fatty foods. Leaving the husks on, I dry blend about a cup of seeds into a meal. it's easy to put about a teaspoon of it into a smoothie or water. The meal/powder is then stored in a glass jar in the fridge. I prefer to use milk thistle in this whole food form.

I have put the seeds into a mesh tea spoon, but they don't steep well, and that doesn't seem a cost effective method. HOWEVER, I enjoy mixing them into other foods, smoothies, and such, or pulverizing them a bit and adding to such as salads and soups.

Great product. Seeds need to be ground in a blender. We blend 1 teaspoon per person in coconut milk, almond milk & water mix daily. Vitamix 5200 does a great job if you have one.

I am so glad to see bulk herbs available. Swanson sells the capsules and now I'm seeing more bulk herbs, a great combination. Thanks, now I can order my herbs and other products at the same location. Saves postage and they make it so easy. Thanks.

First off, I know absolutely nothing about what milk thistle seeds are supposed to be like, These could be perfect seeds and I wouldn't know it. What I do know is it takes a long time for the hot water to get much color, so I feel like I am getting too little from them and throwing too much away. They don't grind up well in my oster. Some powder, still mostly seeds. Have not tried them in a smoothie. I am going back to pills.

This milk thistle had no aroma either before grinding it or after. In the past I had milk thistle from whole foods, and from Frontier and both were much more aromatic, which i deduce means fresher. To be fair i haven't called Starwest Botanicals and told them about it.
