Starwest Botanicals Organic Turmeric Root Powder 1 lbs Powder

I ordered and received four- 1lb (454g) bags of Organic Turmeric Root Ground. I order four packs due to the sale that was taking place on the Piping Rock website. I have never ordered from Piping Rock before, but the reviews read nicely, I saw no negative reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. The turmeric was packaged well and arrived in about 4 to 5 days after ordering. The package appeared to be more than 1lb each. I was a little shocked to see how much came! The coloring of the turmeric was a bright orange color. I used it in my lemon and ginger tea, on meats, and soups. I only have used the turmeric for about two weeks and, therefore, cannot say at this point, if the organic turmeric from Piping Rock is performing. I am giving it a five star because I haven't found anything wrong thus far.

I was really excited receiving my Turmeric Root Ground (Organic) Powder from Piping Rock, its freshness and colour led me to use it as much as I could right away. I added it to my egg omelette the next day and use it in my smoothies daily. It is a great product and I will certianly order it again if it is still available. Thanks to the Piping Rock crew.

We really enjoy the Turmeric toot powder. We have it as a morning tea and also add it to foods such as stews, chili, etc. My wife says it would make perfect Easter egg dye as it turns our pans yellow......hehe

The product itself is very good—flavor and quality are exactly what I expected. The issue is the shelf life, which is only about seven months. For a package of this size, that's limiting for most households. Yes, the product may still be usable beyond that date, but flavor and freshness will likely decline. In my view, a 12–18 month shelf life—or offering a smaller size—would better match typical usage and provide better value. Bottom line: Quality is there, but the short shelf life makes this size less practical than it should be.
