Staub Cast Iron 3.5-qt Braiser with Glass Lid - Grenadine

This is my first expensive cast iron pan. I used it to fry up chicken. Just some marinated chicken breasts. I couldn't believe how easy it was compared to SS. i have been ising high end 3-ply caphelon pans, but they are nothing compared to this pan! Im 60, dont cook as much now, but I wish bought one a long time ago. Dont wait, I promise if yove never had one like this, you are going to love it. Just one nit picky thing would be the glass top. its almost as big as the pan. i wish it was a tad smaller %26 should have been made with broscilate glass. Everything I buy must be dishwasher friendly because I dont like washing dishes, but this is so easy to wash, I dont mind. You can even let it air dry. Regular cast iron you have to dry right away due to rust. I have an instatpot, a convection oven %26 this pan. Thats all I need, so Im getting rid of all my other pans. This pan does just about everything, but grill. Im also moving to Europe, and this is the only pan I will be bringing with me. Enjoy.

You can never go wrong with Staub. This 12” braiser with heavy domed glass top is good to go to 500 deg. Browns so evenly and it's nice to have a large stovetop to oven to table with look and cook ease to keep an eye on things. This braiser can do it all.

This braiser is versatile and beautiful—and it cooks like a dream. It's been in the pan rotation in my kitchen every day since it arrived, including for three dishes for Thanksgiving. I've used it in the oven and on the stovetop to make shakshuka, (best ever) grilled cheese, roasted chicken breasts, stir fry, seared salmon, balsamic caramelized onions, fried liver, crispy potatoes, and lots more. It lives on my stovetop! After using, I wash it gently with a dishcloth and regular dish soap, dry it with a kitchen towel, and then smear a couple drops of oil into the inside surface to keep the enamel conditioned. Still looks and works like new. Definitely my favorite pan.

At first I wasn't too sure about the glass lid now love it! Not only does it look good but it cooks well!

Overall the product is nice but when I received it the knob was discolored and not the right color (gold instead of silver). I reached out a few weeks ago to get this resolved and have yet to hear back. Given the amount of money that was spent on this I would've expected better quality. I understand these are not normal circumstances but it's been over two weeks and I've heard nothing back. Outside of this issue I like the Braiser. It works well and is good quality. I just wish it was okay to use it the dishwasher on a frequent basis.

I was disappointed in the overall quality control of this product. There were obvious defects in the pan. Like a knife slice along the side and a dot of white enamel right smack in the center of the black pan. It's glazed into the pan. No chance I'll be able to remove it. Considering the cost of these pans and Dutch ovens I do expect to receive a quality item. This didn't meet my expectations of quality craftsmanship. It looked more like a rush job.
