Staub Cast Iron 7.5" Round Gratin Baking Dish - Graphite Grey

I bought this dish 6 months ago. I use it multiple times per week. I now understand the importance of good quality, heat retaining cookware. Food really does cook evenly and it crisps beautifully if you want to go that route with higher heat.

This is such an awesome pan to make perfect sides dishes to serve 4 people. Potatoes brown and get crispy, absolutely delicious. It would also be fantastic for a cobbler since it holds its heat so well.

I use this pan for everything. Our (family) most favorite thing to make in it is biscuits. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly so everything is perfectly cooked. I have also pan fried a steak in this pan and it produces a beautiful sear. You won't believe how versatile this pan is.

I really like using this dish for scallops scampi gratin. As you would expect from a Staub cast iron, the dish heats up quickly and evenly. The scallops get a perfect sear and into the oven with some buttery crumb topping to finish. Beautiful presentation dish. The angle of the handle is just right to prevent injuries. the innovative black matte interior will aid in the release of food and ease in clean up.
