Steamfast SF-457 Insta Steam Handheld Garment Steamer

I love, love, love this handheld steamer! It works great! It is lightweight and shaped to fit your hand. It heats up in 30 seconds and stays cool to the touch. The steamer removed all the wrinkles in my clothes with ease. I use it on my shirts, but it says that you can also use it on thick material like curtains. They suggest using distilled or demineralized water to prolong the life of the steamer. It's small enough that you can pack it and take it with you on trips. The steamer has 2 heat settings and it runs continuously. You can use it to remove wrinkles or freshen your clothes. And it uses no chemicals. You put water in the little removable canister, plug it up and 30 seconds later, you are ready to remove wrinkles. It works very quickly. When you are done, you unplug it and let it cool for about 5 minutes. I have never has a steamer before. Now I will never be without one. I would highly recommend the Vornado Steamfast Inst Handheld Garment Steamer.

I really like this handheld steamer,this product works wonderful. Years ago I had a small handheld steamer and It was very awkward,it was hot to the touch and it took a long time for the water to heat up. This steamer takes 30 seconds to heat up,the handle is cool to the touch and not awkward to hold. I like that it has two steam settings,there is no chemicals in the steamer. It's easy to store,it has a 5 ounce water tank that gives 10 minutes of continuous steam. I used this on a child's 100% Cotton dress that was washed & dried and was very wrinkled. I had to fill the water tank twice but the wrinkles came out only the sash was lightly wrinkled,it took 15 minutes on the first setting to steam out all the wrinkles. I was very impressed,this does not need any assembly and I wish it had a way to wind the long cord on brackets but there is no brackets you have to wind the cord around the steamer. This can be used to steam luggage,clothes,pillows,drapes,and furniture.You cannot use this steamer with synthetic materials such as 100% nylon or polyester.This should also be used with distilled or de- mineralized water to prolong the life of this product.This takes 5 minutes to cool . I recommend this product and will continue to use it.

Found this to be quite the handy little gadget for steaming my curtains, pillowcases, shams, and all around clothing. Makes clothes look clean, crisp and wrinkle-free. Not too heavy, so someone like me with muscle disability can use this easily. Easy to fill, easy to turn on. Heats up quickly, faster than my heavy iron. Do not put your hands in front of it as the steam is hot and can burn your skin. This will replace my ninja steamer, which is much heavier. Two thumbs up!!!

No more ironing for me!! I was so happy to get my steamfast hand held garment steamer. This product is a life savior!! I really hate to iron but now I don’t even have to take out an ironing board. I had my dress hung up and steamed it in less than two minutes it was wrinkle free. The steamfast is light and easy to hold with just one hand. It has a 5 ounce water tank that is securely attached and easy to remove. The steam fast steams away wrinkles and deodorizes with no chemicals. I can’t wait to use it on other fabrics, my work scrubs, curtains and mattress. This is such a great product, it takes no time to steam up. It requires no assembly at all. I added water to the water tank , then plugged it in and turned it on to the first setting, in 30 seconds I had steam and it was ready for my garments. It was quick and easy and didn’t take long, in less than 2-3 minutes I was wrinkle free. I tried both settings and each worked great. During use the handle and tank was nice and cool. The steamer makes a typical sound, not noises at all. The top and the steam vents get warm. I love this product works fast and very easy to use, I definitely recommend this product to friends and family because it has so many things u can use it on. It’s so light and compact that you can take it with you anywhere u go!!

Absolutely love it. The water tank requires about a cup of water. You fill it and plug it in. I wait about 5 minutes and then use it, this gives it time to heat up. I use the highest level, there are 2, for my work slacks. I run it over them one time and it takes all wrinkles out. You can actually use this while your clothes are still hanging in the closet. It works fast and is so simple to use, that I never read the directions. This is a time saver! One pair of pants take about 30 seconds and one blouse takes about a minute. You do not have a lot of options in using it, so, you can't screw anything up!

I would recommend the steamfast. Its hand held and very convenient. I purchased this item because I have several synthetic hair wigs, and the only way to bring it back to life is steam, since they are fabric and not real hair. The steamfast also works great removing the wrinkles on my silky shirts, and linen fabric clothing. What a great alternative to an iron, and pulling out the old iron board. The price cant be beat...

I hate using irons and ironing boards. They are heavy and cumbersome, take too much space and can be dangerous. I know that from my own experience, when I burnt myself a couple times. So I was looking at the steamers for quite some time. I wanted to try one to compare the usefulness, effectiveness and ease of use with the standard iron. I got this Steamfast Instagram garment steamer and so far I like it. The main thing that I like is that you do not have to take curtains off the window, you do not have to open the ironing board, you do not have to try and even the creases on the clothing to iron it. Stuff is just hanging and you are steaming it! I mean how easy is that! You can also use it on furniture, bed sheets, pillows, etc. it is small enough so it is easy to use and store at home, but yet powerful to freshen up the heavy living room curtains. The steamer is ready in 30 seconds and can last for up to 10 minutes of continuous steam. It does not burn or crush the fabrics. It has two steams settings to work on almost all fabrics. It is obviously not as strong as the iron but it works just as fine for me. Overall I think it’s a good steamer and I would recommend it.

I was very impressed with the look of this SF 457 portable steamer. I took it out of the box and read the instruction booklet, which is written in several languages including Spanish and French, and of course English. I removed the water tank as per the instructions, and filled it up with water. It holds about 4.5 ounces of water, and not quite 5 ounces as the manual states. It was pretty simple to remove and snap the water tank back into place using the white tab on the underside of the handle. I plugged in the steamer and pushed forward the green button on top to the desired steam level. A green light indicates the steamer is on. In my case I wanted full steam because I deliberately used a textured shirt for this test. The steamer is a bit weighty. I wish that it was lighter. After ten minutes I felt like I was holding a 5 pound barbell. The water tank needs to be refilled pretty often also since it is so small. I used the steamer for approximately 5 minutes on the left side of my shirt and did not really notice a difference. I tried it again, same side for another 5 minutes. See the photo included. The left side has been steamed for 10 minutes and the right side was not touched. I saw only a slight difference between the two sides. Nothing that made me jump for joy. The steamer requires too many passes before it straightens or irons out textured garments. Thinner material such as silk and rayon fared better. Two or three swipes with the steam, and the wrinkles disappeared. This steamer does deposit wet spots spontaneously. Nothing too crazy. It is noisy. Lots of constant hissing and spitting while it is on. Great portability. Can be stored easily and packed into an overnight bag or suitcase if needed. I hate that it needs to be plugged in to work. I wish it was wireless with a detachable cord to charge an internal battery. Then I could move around more freely as I steamed curtains and bedsheets. Another important note: after using this steamer for ten minutes on full steam, I unplugged it and set it down to cool. During use, the steamer gets extremely hot. The water tank and handle remains cool, but the top portion gets too hot. It took roughly 35 minutes after use and after it was unplugged for the steamer to cool off enough that I could comfortably touch the top portion. Not covenient if you are needing to quickly use it then pack it up to travel.

I’ve never owned an actual steamer, so I was extremely excited to try this product out. Being a stay-at-home mom, I do not have a lot of “fancier” clothing. I did try it out on some of my cotton shirts (ones that I folded & later found covered in wrinkles). It did a fantastic job removing the wrinkles and I was quickly on my way. I also decided to give this product a try on some curtains in our kitchen. It is such a hassle to have to take curtains down and wash them or even just buying new curtains and how they are always wrinkled from the packaging. Well, the curtains were rather thin so I felt like it would not take very long to remove the wrinkles. Unfortunately, it took longer than I expected it to. I spent 20-30 minutes just on one curtain. I will say that I believe it was mainly due to dust clogging the steam openings. So if you have plans to use this on curtains, make sure that the curtains have been washed somewhat recently. I did eventually get all the wrinkles removed and was happy with how it turned out. Overall, I was mostly pleased with this product and I would recommend it to others to use.

I was able to finally try out my new item. I actually love the design of the Vornado Steamfast InstaSteam Handheld Garment Steamer and found it very easy to hold. It is very nice and light and easy to use, no assembly or difficult instructions! I was excited when I opened the box. But, unfortunately, that was the end of our short-lived love affair. The issue I had was that it didn’t seem to work well at all. After I used it for several minutes attempting to iron out some of the wrinkles on one of my son’s cotton and polyester school shirts, the shirt was left quite wet and still full of wrinkles. I don’t know it it’s just because it’s such a heavy fabric, but that’s the only thing in my home that I have that wrinkles terribly. I haven’t been able to test it out on curtains yet, it’s possible it works well on a light, thin fabric but living in Florida, I have mostly blinds. Overall, I like it and plan to play around with it and try other fabrics, but if you’re short on time and have heavily wrinkles fabrics, I’m not sure if this would be the one for you.
