As advertised!!

hfsassy February 26, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received SteelSeries’ Aerox 5 Wireless Gaming Mouse to test out and review. I love gaming and was looking into buying a new gaming mouse, so was super pleased to recieve and test it out (thanks Influenster!) The packaging is both sturdy and sleek, which I liked, and within the box was the mouse, USB Type C and A cables, Type C wireless dongle, extension adapter and instructions. The Aerox 5, like other gaming mice, has RGB colour changing lights which are nice and thankfully don’t seem to drain the battery life too much (according to the company, you can play for up to 180 hours. Fast charging can provide 40 hours of gameplay from only a 15-minute charge) Set it up and played a variety of games to test it out, such as, Rusty Lake’s Roots, Rusty Lake’s Hotel, CoD and LoL, and here are some pros and cons I discovered: Pros: - Good battery life, charges quite fast when connected by wire ( so their above claim is accurate) - Really is Ultra-Light as the name suggests - I was previously using a Corsair that my dad bought a while back, which was a bit of a hassle when I played fps games, so this is a welcome upgrade! - Total Customization - 9 programmable buttons with a 5-button action panel includes a tailor-made up/down flick switch. You can customize every click with ease using the SteelSeries Engine - Super sensitive, which can be a minus sometimes, but you can adjust this in your preferences - Solid wireless connection without any perceptible input lag Cons: - The software is glitchy at times, making configuring the mouse more difficult than it should - The mouse can sometimes be slow to come back up when the USB receiver is disconnected and reconnected - The side buttons are quite cushioned which means that I didn’t get the greatest feedback when pressing, but I do feel like I’ll get used to this over time. - Somewhat awkward button placement (for my hand at least), can't really find a good grip that allows me to hit some of the buttons at the same time or one after the other (like 3 and 10) without having to shift my hand Overall, a great mouse that I would definitely recommend to others and will continue using myself. Does have some negatives, but the positives far outweigh the negatives and the product is as advertised. Would love to try and test out some more of their products (heard great things about their headphones!) in the future.

Awesome gaming mouse

Salty79 April 18, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Aerox 5 is a great gaming mouse. The button layout with the mouse design itself fits nicely in my hand. The easily switchable sensitivity settings in a cool feature and great for different style games. It has a fast response time and was easy to set up. The downside is that it's to lightweight. Would be nice to able to add weights to the underside for a heavier more sturdier feel.

An obvious upgrade

Jackiegee April 12, 2026

I was using the wired aerox 5 prior to buying this one as i needed to get rid of the wire and its safe to say that life without a wired mouse is a different kind of freedom. Still ultra light weight glides unbelievably smooth and the battery life is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Best Handling

t0h178 April 23, 2026

The Aerox 5 Wireless gives me the perfect handling for my favorite game: Escape from Tarkov. This game got a lot of functions and you NEED a nice mouse with extra buttons to play the game like its supposed to. SteelSeries is also the ONLY producer who writes on the cover of their packed equipment which you can purchase from them, true details about the sensor and switch technology, not like other producers. THAT was the reason that made me purchase the Aerox 5. SteelSeries knows what gamer want!

Best ever

Zuul March 25, 2026

I had rival 700 and 710 The had the double click issue after many years of use and a teenagers violent use. I bought this mouse and it's even better somehow, despite being wireless. I can effortless use it for own pc (with receiver) and work pc (Bluetooth) So win-win. All i lack on the new aeros is being able to store profiles on the mouse, as 700 and 710 could. But it's just the cherry on the top, and not nessesary. Only a great feature.

Light and effective

Kiratica March 26, 2026

I switched from an old secondhand wireless mouse to this new steelseries mouse, it had crazy value and was cheaper than anything secondhand, a rare sight these days, the mouse feels amazing and has greatly improved my aim (in Overwatch it has went from 36% to nearly 50%!)

The Best Gaming mouse ever made

Anonymous May 18, 2026

I bought the SteelSeries Aerox 5 Wireless mouse and honestly, I'm absolutely amazed by it. This is definitely the best mouse I've ever had in my hands — and I truly mean that sincerely, without exaggeration. From the very first use, you can immediately feel the incredible build quality and how well thought-out the product is in practically every aspect. The mouse is incredibly lightweight, fits perfectly in the hand, and remains extremely comfortable even during long gaming or work sessions. The additional buttons turned out to be a fantastic decision — a friend recommended the Aerox 5 Wireless over the Aerox 3 Wireless, and he was absolutely right. The extra programmable buttons really make a difference during everyday use and gaming. What's important is that I basically bought it “blind” — I didn't spend hours reading reviews or watching comparisons. I had previously tried the Aerox 3 Wireless at a friend's place and it already left a very positive impression on me, but the Aerox 5 Wireless exceeded my expectations in every possible way. A huge plus also goes to the SteelSeries GG software — it's very clean, intuitive, and simply enjoyable to use. Everything works exactly the way it should without unnecessary complications or issues. Honestly, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this mouse. For me, this product has no flaws. I'm 100% satisfied with my choice, and if I ever buy any gaming gear or computer accessories again, I will definitely choose SteelSeries. It's been a long time since a product impressed me this much.

Lightweight and decently responsive.

davidb7799 February 23, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Aerox 5 Wireless Gaming Mouse directly from Influenster I exchange for a review. I haven’t used many gaming specific mice before; so I was excited to receive and test this mouse out. Packaging is sturdy and inside is the mouse, a usb cable and instructions. I use a Mac and setup was easy; you can use either Bluetooth or 2.4ghz wireless. I set mine up using Bluetooth and it was quick and easy and I was up and running in under 5 minutes. As with most ‘gaming’ devices, the Aerox 5 has RGB colour changing lights which don’t add much for function but it does look pretty cool and it doesn’t seem to drain the battery too quickly. I’ve only had to fully charge my mouse like, once since I got it - which isn’t bad! The mouse features an open body so you can see right through it which did concern me initially as I thought it would just get filled with dust and dog hair easily but so far; we’re doing OK! This means it’s super light and very comfortable to use. It’s responsiveness is great; with little to no latency/lag - it can be super sensitive but you can easily adjust those settings to your preference. It’s got 9 programmable buttons that you can configure to your gaming style; not as many as some other mice but to be honest, I am much happier with the simplicity here and for the types of PC games I play; it’s perfectly adequate. Not sure it would be great for hardcore gamers but for us more casual players; it’s a pretty decent mouse and will be continuing to use it!

Light, customisable, RGB is messy

Kylours April 19, 2026

Ridiculously light, ridiculously customizable, and ridiculously good at killing its battery if the RGB is on. The skeleton-style design is also a nice touch. Since it's more open, it doesn't collect the usual layer of grime and finger grease the way normal mice do, which means less cleaning and less disgusting buildup over time. One annoying issue, though: I turned the RGB off to save battery, and then SteelSeries GG just refused to turn the mouse lighting back on. I literally couldn't get it working again through the software when I wanted to take a photo for this review. That's definitely a point off.
