I use this headset with my Xbox Series X, Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, Nvidia Shield, and my Android phone. It is the most versatile plug and play wireless headset on the market. If you need a jack of all trades wireless headset with great comfort and sound, the 7x is the best option.
I used a few of the steel series headsets and the 7X is by far one of the best in comfort sound and versatility. I had the option to get the 9X or the 7X and I chose the 7X because the Mike was more sensitive during game chat. I never messed with any presets but I know if you have a Mac you cant adjust them anyways . So just for plug in the headset and start playing the 7X wins in my opinion.
Best gaming headset I have ever owned. Excellent sound, extremely comfortable and hasn't lost signal once in the week or so I have had them. Love that the mic is retractable so I can use them outside of just gaming and they still look cool. Also, I have used them on my PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and my mobile phone with no problem and it's wireless on all of them!
I bought the Arctis 7X in anticipation of the Xbox Series X coming out soon and have been using it daily with my Xbox One X in the meantime. This thing is awesome. Sounds great, feels very comfortable and the mic sounds better than any I've owned before. I've been playing Warzone, Apex and the latest Control DLC with it and I love how impressive and clear everything sounds. I also tried the headset on my Switch and my Galaxy Note 20. Its very cool simply plugging the little USB-C dongle into each device and having it work right away. It says it works on PlayStation as well, but I haven't tried that yet. I'll be taking this headset with me once we're all able to commute again. It sounds so good on my current Xbox and I'm very excited to hear it on the Series X.
The headset itself is top notch and probably one of the better gaming-related headsets you can find at this time. It is compatible with all new consoles and PCs, and is extremely comfortable. So, no problems with the actual product. But I did want to note that my headset arrived in a box that was not sealed and seemed to have been opened before, and lacked an instruction manual. I am not sure if it was a floor copy, or a returned headset or what, but it did not appear to be an untouched box. If the product was refurbished or an open-box item, I would have expected that to be more clearly marked.
Replacing an old set of TBs, the 7xs is a nice upgrade. Extremely comfortable and sound is good but not great. Whats annoying is volume is occasionally lower at times, causing me to have to unplug dongle from back of console and plug it back in. Also, when playing games like cod, I have to have the master vol maxed out just to hear footsteps. Theres another weird issue when my mic is muted, sometimes my GT appears on the screen as if Im talking. Personally I think TBs have better sound quality but these are superior in comfort.
Headphones looks great, they feel great, they sound great, the retractable mic with mute light is awesome, connectivity seems to be great. However.... they're too quiet, and this is a well known and documented issue (just google Arctis 7x volume to see for yourself). I used them in a quiet living room and found the maximum volume to be just right, but I can't keep these knowing that if I ever need to go higher in volume it will not be possible. General volume is NOT adjustable in the PC software, nor is there a limiter switch to disable. Sadly... returning.
This headset is very comfortable, and at first I was in love with them. Unfortunately after no less than 3 months of average use, the microphone began cutting out while playing Warzone on XSX. Before you buy, do a little research. This issue is common and well documented. I was unable to return them as I was past the 30 day period. If you are in the market for a headset to pair with XSX I highly reccomend you look elsewhere.
My problem with this headset is how high the mic monitoring is, you can hear everything. I also dont like that the noise when muting is pretty loud and noticeable. It is a loud headset and the charge lasts pretty long, youre able to charge while using without any weird buzzing which is a plus but if i knew that my mic would go off randomly when i wasnt even speakin i wouldnt have bought
The headset only lasted 5 months and the microphone will just quit working in the middle of a game. You have to turn off the headset, unplug the doggle, replug the doggle, then reset the headset. If that doesn't work, keep doing it till it works again. DO NOT BUY
