This is by far the best wastebasket I have ever owned. My dogs haven't been able to open it and tear up the trash. The can is very durable and many of my family members wanted me to give it to them. I highly recommend this product and will be purchasing another.

I bought this for recycling bags while they're filling but I'm actually going to buy a second one for garbage now too. I love that the second lid holds the bags in place so they don't fall into the bin while putting stuff in the bag. Just wish they had more colors to choose from.

It's a trash bin. It locks. It's sturdy. It keeps my children and dogs out of the trash. My family is feral. This does the trick. I like that the lock is optional on the lid, so I can close it when I'm out to keep curious dogs at bay. Unlock the lid when home for ease of use. It's black and hides dirty hand prints. Overall, take up a decent amount of floor space, but it's well balanced as a result. I'd recommend it.

I have two very rowdy kittens that kept knocking over my trash can and a dog who could lift any lid. This can is perfect! The lock keeps everyone out and is very stable so it's hard to tip over. Even if it is tipped the lock keeps it shut. The lock is a bit difficult to turn at first but it loosens up with use. Wonderful product, terrific price and super fast shipping. A must have for any pet owner!

This 12.6 galloon step on waste basket is of a very good quality in terms of durability, make and color. We use it in our home office. The lock system of this wastebasket is a great addition to the regular wastebasket with a lid. However I wish the lock would be easier to hold and rotate and would be little bigger. Overall it is a great product to have and use in our house or workplace. I received this product as part of a My-Take research study.

I was excited to find a “pet proof” garbage can for my kitchen but my dog quickly helped me realize she is smarter than your can. She just knocks it over to make the big lid pop open. While the step portion can be locked in place, the lid you open to put your garbage bag in does not lock nor does it fasten itself securely in place. My dog knocks the can over and I'm left sweeping up piles of garbage from my kitchen floor. :(

Disappointed. This wastebasket only lasted a couple of months. The plastic latches on the lid have already bent and broken off. Everytime I step on the pedal it just pops the whole lid up now. From the beginning, When you put a garbage bag in it after a couple uses the flip up lid mechanism pokes a hole inside the bag. I've tried different bags thinking mine were too thin. Happened with the flex bags as well. So that causes trash to slip into the bottom of the pail. I had high hopes for this wastebasket, switching from another brand to try out the sterilite locking lid one. I havent used the locking option because I didnt want it to break. But thought the option was great since i have a dog that loves garbage.

My kids bought me one for Christmas to replace all the ones they broke over the years. If you have a large family do not buy. The plastic parts to lock the main lid in place do not last if you have to change your trash bag daily. Mine lasted 1-1/2 months. Conveniently, replacement lids are not available. Off to buy yet another trash can!!
