I have bought this tub before so this is a second purchase. This time, I selected the 2 pack to use one for hand dish %26 pot washing and the second one for general household use. I like the size as it fits either side of a double stainless steel sink. I like that its very deep to protect the side of my sink from getting scratched when washing pots. Suggest dont fill it too high with water as depending upon the height of your sink, its heavy (at least for me) to pick up one side of the tub and then the other side to dump out water. I do have a small tear on the top corner on one side of my first tub purchased a year ago.
This wash tub is sturdy, lightweight, and a great size for a variety of everyday tasks. It works well for washing dishes, soaking items, cleaning, or carrying supplies. The durable plastic holds up well, and the simple design makes it easy to use and clean. A practical, versatile product that I'm very happy with.
I thought I was buying a plastic tub. What I received was a versatile life management system disguised as a Sterilite 18 Qt. Dishpan. Let's address the obvious: yes, it holds water. Admirably. Heroically, even. But reducing this dishpan to “a thing that holds water” is like calling a grand piano “a box with strings.” Technically correct, emotionally incomplete. From the moment I set it in my sink, I could tell this was no ordinary container. The shape? Intentional. The curvature? Thoughtful. The color? A bold yet humble declaration that says, “I am here to serve, but I could absolutely lead if needed.” I initially used it for dishes. It handled grease, sauce, and the emotional aftermath of taco night with grace. But then… I started to experiment. This dishpan has since become: A vegetable washing station (farmers market energy, even if it's from aisle 6) An emergency beverage cooler (ice drinks = instant party credibility) A soaking spa for things I forgot to clean earlier in the week A temporary storage unit for “I'll deal with this later” items (shockingly effective system) A symbol of control in an otherwise chaotic world Capacity is generous without being overconfident. It holds just enough to make you feel productive, but not so much that you question your life choices halfway through. The plastic is sturdy—this thing doesn't flex under pressure. I, however, do. But the dishpan remains strong. There's also something deeply reassuring about the way it sits. Stable. Grounded. Unbothered. Like it's seen things… and chosen peace. At one point, I caught myself rinsing it out after use and thought, “Am I… taking care of this dishpan?” And the answer is yes. Because it has taken care of me. Would I recommend the Sterilite 18 Qt. Dishpan? Without hesitation. Whether you're washing dishes, organizing your life, or just staring into it while contemplating your next move, this is more than a purchase. It's a container for possibility.
I bought this to use as a dish in my kitchen to keep from running water every time we wash dishes to save on well water and to save money so it works out real well in the sink and it does a good job. It's sturdy and it's worth every minute of the money you stand on.
Use these to hold items in the fridge, coloring books and supplies for the grandkids, and just recently used one as an Easter Basket so my grandson will have something to organize the goodies grandma got his for Easter. These last for year's and can be used for so many other things that just a sink.
I don't do many dishes by hand anymore in a dishpan. BUT I do put out pans of water for lizards, deer, cats, dogs, possums, etc. TEXAS IS HOT, and I can't abide thirsty animals! So these dishpans are for my yard: discreet and simple. I have some scraps of black countertops that are perfect little walkways, so no one drowns. That is a downer, big time. And you must remember to change the water every 5 days, or you will be spawning mosquitoes. Also not good. I have shallow bird baths too. but all the critters get thirsty. My grandmother was super poor (widowed in 1932, before social security existed), but she always had a bird bath and a water saucer in her yard in hot, dry south Texas.
I bought this tub to store cleaning solutions and products in. It was better than expected! I love the high sides which will keep all items securely in place.
Basin is perfect size for what I recommend my patients to use it for home therapy. Great quality %26 perfect size for washing dishes while camping too.
I have a large sink; it is great to drop my large fry pan in to soak before finishing the cleaning in fresh hot soapy water. The size and quality of the item is well worth the money. Thank you.(
This is a heavy duty very large dish pan. I was surprised at how well it was made. Got it to mix up homemade laundry detergent and it is working out great!
