I'm at the time of my life when I want to downsize - yet can't part with my fabric - I'm a quilter and these totes are great - I can see what's in them and they are easy to handle and easy to open. Will be buying more and in different sizes.
Holy Wow! Or-Gan-IZE!..... They flap. They stack. They are clear. And they clearly have enough space to have made even George Carlin happy about his "STUFF". . . (RIP George). The options for using these are endless. They are sturdy, lightweight, and their size fit fine on most any shelving system in our home. I recommend this product. ....be well...
I've been buying these boxes for years and they've held up just fine. They are cheaper than other storage boxes I've found. I ordered them online this time, which I hesitated to do since many reviewers said they received them broken, but all 5 of my boxes were in perfect shape upon arrival.
These are affordable storage boxes for accessing everyday lightweight items. The attached flip lids are easy to open and close, and depending what you put inside, oftentimes only one half lid needs to be opened to access the contents inside which makes it very quick and convenient. The biggest drawback is that the hinged/flip lids do not lock or seal completely, which means moisture, dust, and bugs can still get in, and if stacked, and then accidentally toppled over, the contents will very likely fall out. The flip lids also do not lay flat when closed, they result in a slight dome shape when both halves of the lids are connected as they should be in the closed position, causing subsequent stacked boxes (of the same kind), to shift and tilt to one side, which is a hassle to constantly re-position as well as a legitimate concern that the items will fall out and get dirty or damaged. If also doubling up the use of these boxes during moving, the flip lids will not be the most optimal/secure, and stretch wrapping each box fully would be necessary to ensure they don't open on their own (or collapse/sink inwards). It would be great if Sterilite would be able to combine the convenience of the hinged/flip lids with the strength and security of closure mechanisms offered on other models of Sterilite storage totes/boxes. I would only recommend these hinged lid/ flip top boxes for items that are lightweight and need to be accessed regularly or daily. For this purpose, they are great value for money, and the clear plastic and hinged/flip tops make identifying and accessing contents a breeze.
I first bought these when moving back home from school for the first summer. They were on sale at the time and looked sturdy enough. Never did I think I'd love them as much as I do! They hold up great and stack pretty well! They're also the perfect size for a girl my age to carry without struggling, which is a total plus when packing and unpacking every summer!
I bought a few of these about 2 years ago and they work great for packing, but not so great for stacking. If there is even slightly heavy box on top of the bottom one, a hinge would give out or the top would collapse in. Despite that, I've found it very durable, useful in organizing, and easy to stack. I have about 12 of them and they've been through about 4 tough moves and still look and work amazingly.
They designed this box with a few flaws like the unlocked or hinged lid and two holes on the two sides which are absolutely flawless for ants and other insects to penetrate!
I bought this a week and a half ago and it just arrived today. After I unwrapped the black packaging this box was BROKEN! The side was TOTALLY DAMAGED and the plastic pieces are inside the box and within the packaging. I can tell it was already broken when they wrap it but they still continued to ship it to me. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
They don't close securely. Cardboard boxes would be better. This wasn't obvious from the description or picture on-line, but it is now.. Too late.
2 of the city trainers came broken and I could not get full credit for them in store. I won't use Walmart.com again. I had the receipt and they still would not give me what I paid.
