[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed to completely reorganize my closet, and of course I immediately thought of Sterilite! I have used their products ever since I was little, even remembering my mom buying these organizers for my sisters and I in order to store all of our childhood things! With these Wide Drawers, I was able to completely organize my adult apartment, the closet specifically because it's the only storage I have (meaning I have to have all cleaning tools, extra bedding/towels, my clothes, shoes, cat supplies, and anything else, all in this one closet). I feel so much more free and organized thanks to Sterilite!
I love that I can stack these as high as I need them. I use them for warehouse storage for buckaduck.com and ducksonly.com. I stack the carts 9 drawers high and currently have 10 towers of drawers. I do not use the wheels because the weight puts too much pressure on the base and makes the bottom drawer unopenable. But with the towers so high, moving them just isn't an option! I love that they have clear front. I make tags for the product that I store in each drawer that I can place inside the drawer and still see it. The cards make it easy to find the product I'm looking for and the drawers make it easy to see the cards.
I've bought these drawers to organize my home office and professional art supplies. They are strong, acid-free, and have casters so that it's easy to move the drawers where needed. I love these storage drawers.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this in my closet and it works pretty well for my clothing. I will say I prefer the narrower/smaller version because it holds up better to more weight. This size tends to sag a bit in the middle if you pile too much in so I wouldnt store heavier items like office supplies, food or toys but light weight clothing does fine. I like that you have the option to put on wheels or leave them off. The height works great with the narrower/smaller 3 drawer option and the depth fits perfectly in our closet.
I bought the 3 drawer cart at a thrift store and I love the size. It didn't come with casters and I'd like to get some for easy mobility. What size should I get?
The wheels easily break the frame. The places the wheels connect are only plastic instead of having metal support in them. The wheels are metal stems. So if you try to roll it especially on carpet, the wheels break the hole where they fit. The top will bend down if you put stuff on top without a support across the top like a piece of wood, Then you cannot shut the top drawer properly and cannot get the top unbent. Do not pile them one on top of the other, the sides give and the whole thing may collapse. The idea is great, the design is not. I would not recommend these to anyone. I ended up purchasing 10 as I thought they would be ok for my needs. Big mistake. Sorry I bought them in the first place. If they improve the design by adding metal and more support, then the idea and use would be a lot greater.
I currently own 6 of these type of drawers alone along with 8 other sterilite drawers in just my bedroom. They're not flashy and allows you to easily identify the contents of each drawer. My main concern is the lack of structural support when placing items on top of the cart. Sags in the middle with a load bearing weight of at least 5 lbs for a short period of time. Drawers do not slide I with ease with clothing or any additional items placed on top. A simple fix for said manufacturer to add rigidity to potential improved version.
Drawers itself with great haven't had an issue but the top is caving in and is cracked now. Is it possible to buy only the top lid?
I bought 2 for my shop one the wheels buckled and the top caved in. The other one the top is caving in. Both are in the middle. I think the tops should be sturdier.
My favorite item was the 3-drawer wide cart. I have purchased several over the years. I recently purchased 2 more along with a few smaller carts. The quality of the new carts is terrible. The wheels on my old carts are large and able to support the cart. The wheels on my new carts are extremely small and cannot support the smallest load. My old carts are strong enough to support very light items on top but not the new carts which sag in the middle. It's difficult to open the drawers even though they have little inside. One doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to know you have decided to use less material in the production of your new product which is unfortunate. The last straw was the plastic which encloses the wheel breaking and the wheels falling off. This has never happened before and I own carts that were purchased many years ago. In the future will look to other manufacturers for my storage needs. Sincerely, Extremely Disappointed
