I saw my son-in-law using a similar smaller tool to do 'quick and dirty' battery circular saw timber cutting, so I checked my local hardware shop and found the Stanley Dual Colour Square. I rip up old free pallets to make various items around the house and up to now I have used a lot of time measuring and clamping wood guides, found the saw hits the clamps, dismantle and re-position, go off true and get annoyed. The Stanley square has a nice thick guide edge for the circular saw and requires only one 30mm measurement to position the sawcut perfectly. I wish I'd found this tool YEARS ago.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally had the opportunity to use the Stanley Dual Color Quicksquare. I used it to frame up a bathroom in my garage. I found the Quicksquare easy to read and easy to use. All markings are clear and laid out in a sensible manner. I much prefer this to my former speed square. Highly recommended
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Light weight is my first impression! At first I doubted if the plastic construction can take all the abuse (this isn't a level with vails so I don't expect to handle it with as much care), but it turns out very sturdy after twists, drops, and bends. Of course I won't say it's as resistant to twists and bends as a steel one (and in fact, it's not too much less resistant at all), but I'd be willing to trade in the rigidity for like one third of the weight! The plastic molding appears to be the result of a very well-tuned process. No burrs, no sink marks, no flashes, etc can be felt. I can't even see any visible flow marks! All the detailed features such as the pockets and the edge rounding are very crisp. The feature I like the most is that the markings go beyond the edges and extend to sides to the square. This enormously helps with drawing lines with the square by removing the eye-balling part of marking matching.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Stanley Sual Colored Quicksquare is the bee's knees! It does everything from measuring, leveling, and maintaining a straight line while measuring. I found this Quicksquare to be extremely accurate, very durable, and excellent at maintaining its color/printing after consistent and labored use! I do wish it came with a case or some way to make it easier to carry around with me. It is a very large tool, but I would still purchase it again (if I needed it, but these last forever). I highly recommend it for anyone seeking accurate and professional results!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great quality. I was a first hesitant about it being plastic. Thats what I really like the most. It doesn't scratch things or leave marks like aluminum does. All the numbers and markings being molded plastic insurers that they won't wear off either.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love this quick square. It is a perfect size and the material is fantastic. It is durable, but also lightweight and perfect for use on the job! This quick square really meets all the needs I have when using it and can even be used as a ruler when necessary!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice quicksquare. Feels good and the hand, and the plastic is stout and feels like it would be pretty robust. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quality speedsquare. Great job Stanley!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is big. Great for squaring up large areas, ripping large boards. Not so great for carrying around the job site. I'd also like to try to drop one from a height to see if the plastic can hold up. The markings are crystal clear.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the fact that the markings are all molded in and not just printed on the surface and that they are definitely contrasting colors! I was even surprised that the accuracy was spot on when I did a flip test to check the square's accuracy. I also like the heft meaning it will stay in place, and all the clearly marked cues for using the different functions of the square - it was also a full 12" which makes marking any framing materials a piece of cake.
The good is its heavy, tuff, easy to read. The bad, at least the one I received, is badly warped and not truly square. Not square by 1/16" and warped by over I/8". For a Stanley product, and one that is sold as a "SQUARE", this is unacceptable!
