[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say I am impressed with the quality and ease of use this oil provides. My Stihl equipment including my blower pack, string trimmer and my chainsaw all run on the same HP oil. Its so easy to mix and mix correctly just 1 gallon of gas and pour in a bottle of the HP oil and you are set. The engines all run smoothly and have no signs of carbine build up or excessive smoke from the exhaust. I rely on my equipment from Stihl and this oil gives me piece of mind that its being maintained internally correctly year after year.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So glad I bought the pack of pre measured oil. It makes mixing fuel with the correct ratio so easy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a fs91r and have been using this oil since I bought it 4 years ago and haven't had any problems at all I highly recommend this oil
I stated using Stihl Ultra Synthetic 2 stroke oil last year. I use it not only in my Stihl equipment but also in equipment from other manufacturers. Previously, I was using the Stihl Premium 2 cycle oil and 91 octane gas. I stated having quite a few carb issues with this mix in the last 2 years so my dealer suggested given the Ultra version a try. Since I started using it, I have noticed: easier starts, better fuel efficiency, increased power and performance, and it appears to be cleaning out carbon deposits as it works as well. All in all, the oil is expensive but from my experiences, it seems to be worth it.
This product is great and works very well with my Stihl gear. Ive only used this Ultra oil because when the dealer sold me my first stihl trimmer he said if i use this and only this, the dealer can see a difference if they have to take apart the engine. I depend on my equipment and it has yet to fail me.
Look, Stihl power equipment deserves to be taken care of. This is especially important during break-in periods when friction & heat will be at their highest. Stihl will increase your product warranty when you purchase HP Ultra Oil in combination with your equipment purchase! Ask your dealer for details. I often wonder if I had been using this oil in my FS-550 a few years back...it wouldn't have seized up! Trust me, I do use it now in my MS-362, MS-661, BR-600, FS-460, & FS-560. That is way too much of an investment in equipment not to take care of. Friction performance is way better than standard 2-cycle mix.
This is the best oil you can buy, hands down! All the people freaking out about the 21 day biodegradability of this oil need to buy a dictionary and educate themselves about what the word "biodegrade" actually means. When Stihl says this oil will biodegrade by 80% in 21 days, they are talking "in the environment". IE:The ground/dirt. THAT is what the word "biodegrade" means! Your oil will NOT "biodegrade" in the bottle, tank or saw, that isn't how Biodegradation works. Educate yourself before making random things up!
I only use this oil. I use low octane pump gas and use this in it a gallon at a time. I use it in my chainsaws, my weed eaters, and blowers, I live in California, so our gas is trash compared to other states. It takes me around 3 months to use a gallon. In April/May, that goes up because of weed eaters, but this stuff is a good fuel stabilizer. I have a combi unit I got in 2008, and it still runs great.
I no longer use the Stihl HP Ultra 2 cycle oil. Doesn't match up to the higher quality 2-cycle oils I've used. Stihl HP Ultra is only JASO-FB certified. The best ones are JASO-FD or ISO-L-EGD. The price of the Stihl oil is as much as the highest quality certified oils on the market. When you pay premium prices you should get a premium product. A JASO-FB oil is not a premium oil. They make excellent pro saws but their oil is only average. They need to produce a higher quality oil to match their pro saws.
I have used Stihl Ultra for five years in all my two cycle equipment and while I have had no problems with it - it is a dirty burning oil. I have now switched to a competitors two cycle oil that meets the JASO FD standard, while Ultra only meets the FB standard, 1990s technology.I was surprised Stihl is so nonchalant about their two cycle oils.
