Streamlight Rugged Outdoor 5.5" Battery-Powered Lantern

I am very pleased with this lantern. What I like about this lantern is that it is very small. I don't want to be lugging around a lantern the size of the old coleman lanterns even if they do throw out more light. It distributes a decent amount of light (200 lumens) I did't want a lantern that used anything larger that AA batteries . It seems pretty solid. I will probably buy another one this size. By the way I had bought an energizer lantern 2 weeks before this one and had a few issues with it. At times the energizer would not turn on so I would have to remove the 4 batteries and then wait a minute and reinstall them to get the light on. This happened more than once so I gave it away.

Very well made light. Looks like it would easily pass military specs and with 27 years active duty, I would know. Bought for very extended bicycle trips for a tent night light. Great feature with the red light at night in case you don't want to sacrifice night vision. Very well made good super light lantern. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I also bought the Coyote 340 lantern when I purchased the AA LED model. Tons of lanterns are available but I already own several other Streamlight products. I am 100% satisfied with all of them, so far. About three years ago I bought a Streamlight mini LED flashlight with all the characteristic settings; however, after several weeks of careful and occasional use, the output became erratic and finally it died. Long story short: Streamlight promptly exchanged it for a new unit. Their lifetime guarantee held true, although only a little over a month had gone by when the flashlight failed. I bought this AA LED lantern to keep inside my vehicle for the next time I change a tire at night. It's only happened once and although I have a traditional beam flashlight one needs a wide beam of light to keep track of the lug nuts, center the tire on the lug bolts, watch that the jack remains stable, and to have BOTH hands FREE. The AA LED lantern is perfect; it illuminates the tire and work area well and allows the use of BOTH hands (should I need it for a flat tire at night). If not, it takes up little room in the glove compartment and backs up the flashlight. It's dark at night in rural north Texas.

Definitely worth it. Built very well. I have the full size Siege, got this one for the kids. Bright with 2 white light levels, red light, and a strobe feature.

I bought this for camping and it's perfect for the job. It produces bright but non glaring light that is perfectly suited for tent or campsite. Battery operated and very convenient to carry and pack around. Also very good to have in case of power outage. Highly recommended.

This light delivers as advertised. It throws plenty of light and is lightweight and compact. I didn't look at the advertised size so I was surprised at how small it actually was. Regardless, I needed a small light to use in my storage unit for basic tasks at night and with the door closed to keep the winter wind out and this product filled the need! Highly recommend.

For such a small light it puts out a lot of light and it uses just three AA batteries. It can fit in most car glove boxes.
