Stroehmann King Bread, 22 oz, Plain White Bread, Bag

I used to buy the cheap dollar bread which isn't a dollar anymore but also tastes like sawdust. I have tried 2 other brands and I like this bread. It tastes like bread should and behaves like bread should meaning you can tear it in pieces to make cinnamon bits, and it tears and tastes great not springing and stretching like a yoga mat. It is the next best thing to homemade bread that I have found.

Stroehmann King Bread has quickly become my go-to white bread. Every loaf I've purchased has been incredibly fresh—honestly fresher than any other bread I've bought recently. The slices are soft, fluffy, and have a great texture that works perfectly for sandwiches, toast, grilled cheese, and everyday meals. One thing I really appreciate is how fresh it stays after opening. It doesn't dry out quickly, and the bread remains soft for days. The larger loaf size is also great for families since it lasts longer and provides plenty of slices. The flavor is classic white bread—mild, delicious, and versatile enough for anything from peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to morning toast. I grew up on Stroehmanns bread. It's always been my choice for sandwiches. I do believe either the recipe has changed a bit over the years. Also, every now and then, i open a loaf and there's a good size hole through at least a quarter of the loaf due to an air bubble. Since their plant in my hometown (Olean, NY) I feel the quality has gone down a little. Still, after 70 years of eating it, I'll support them until the next change in quality/flavor happens.

Pros: Tastes good / Freezes well / Usually delivered fresh. Cons: Width of the slices varies / It's no fault of Stroehmann, but the loaves are sometimes crushed when delivered. ❤️

One loaf was burnt on bottom ( had delivered never would have purchased in store Next delivered loaf had a very short life period and was already dried out. (Note: only sliced bread I've bought for years)

Bread was old due date so toasted 1,piece and did not help. Threw out! Do not drive and is not worth the trouble to stand in line to return for 1/2 hour every time I go:(

Will not buy this product again, got it, and it was moldy and on sat throw it in the garbage would not recommend this product to anyone

This bread is very dry and it's like your eating cardboard . This bakeries better get back to old way of making bread or they will fold up
