Strongway Tire Spreader

I have two tire machines and a balancer. I need a tire spreader occasionally so I decided to try this one because it was inexpensive. It works great for what it is. You must have a top post machine, a manual changer, or a steel pipe coming out of the ground to mount this to. On tires too large or stiff, the spreader handle might not want to stay in the locked open position. I added a wire hook to address this problem. On most tires it works exactly as described without this hook. My guess is the bad reviews are from people who don't have the spreader mounted to a vertical pipe. It will not work if it is not mounted.

Works like it said it would. I used it on a small lawnmower tire. Really makes patching a breeze.

Holds like it should. Makes tire service much easier.

Works great. It would be better if the part that slides over the center shaft of the tire changer was more to the size of the shaft on the tire changer. less wiggle room.

This tire spreader works good not bad at all for the money it works good with most tires unless bigger than 20" or big mud tires but I'm happy and definetly would recommend for the price

Very good product holds tire in position to be able to clean and buff and patch the tire keeping your hands free. Would be additionally helpful if it would hold smaller tires such as lawn mower and atv tires.

dose what it supose to. great for person on a buget. easy to use for beginer or pro.

Bought this for use at new used tire and tire repair business. It does not work at all. Tried using it on a 205/65/16 tire. It is very poorly designed. The tire was hitting on the pulling end. This tool is useless. It will not work at all. I suggest spending the money for a better tool that works. I repeat, I does not work at all.

First off --the prongs are not wide enough to spread the tire enough to get inside and patch a tire. Second- spreader will not lock into place --which you need it to do so that you can use both your hands while patching a tire. I have a small tire repair shop and was plannin on using this (cheap one) as a back up spreader for "just in case". I think you would be better off to spend a little more money on a spreader.

Will not hold open only the smallest of car tires.The pulling arm doesn't have enough draw back angle to hold open the tire once it is spread. Or it needs some sort of latch on the draw arm to hold it in the spread open position.I didn't expect it to be gold quality but I did expect it to minimally work on all car tires and it does not!
