I was blown away by the look and quality of this item! It was a gift for an 87 year old church member and he was tickled. Would buy again if needed.
Good frame for the price. It includes a cd mounting disc, which works nicely to hold it in place.
I bought a set of these because I had a few signed CD cover booklets lying around, and they look great. And since buying bundles (at Michael's) is a viable option, they were also a great deal. I highly recommend them to anyone with signed CDs (or anyone looking to hang some as a decorative option).
I got a signed Taylor swift cd for Christmas and immediately searched for a frame. This one popped up in my google search and was available to pick up the next day! Was easy to hang and display and looks great
Delivered quickly and well packaged. It did the job it's meant to do but it wasn't an easy task. The back side of the frame has those small metal tabs making it very hard to place the matting back inside the frame without memorabilia sliding around. I ended up having to put a small piece of tape on the back of the CD to keep it from moving. Still a good pick at this price point. If your a patient person I recommend. 😆
This is a very simple and clean way to display a CD and/or signed items. Take your time bending the clips on the back as they are delicate and you need to bend them back after you are finished. TIP: I made the silly mistake of poking the CD holder from the back (you can see in some other reviews that others made the same mistake without realizing it). Put your CD in place on the matting and push the clear plastic CD holder through the CD so that it pokes out the back of the cardboard frame insert.
I really like this frame and it definitely will help your cd and cover art look sharp! It is a little challenging making sure that you have everything lined up properly and I found it easier to do it with another person. I also wish that the piece that goes through the center of the CD had something on the back end to lock it in place. Currently it doesn't which caused the disc to slide around while trying to place the back on and properly center everything. Otherwise a really nice piece for a nice price.
The item is fine, but by paying more for shipping than I did for the frame, I wish it hadn't taken over a week for delivery and that the UPS driver hadn't returned it to the depot - for me to fetch at their convenience - when I wasn't home in the middle of the day. I will honestly never order from Michaels online again.
There is a cd sticker directly on the mat that you can't remove without ripping the mat as others mentioned, not a big deal if you plan to use a cd to cover it and you take your time removing the initial sticker. The plastic piece used to keep the CD in place is designed extremely poorly, CD's have the same diameter inside opening so it doesn't make sense that they didn't make a piece that fit it exactly or have the same design a cd case has so its a bit of a hassle keeping the CD in the correct orientation while also keeping it in the board because the hole is loose and keeping it centered because the hardware is much smaller than the CD opening. Also they could've easily designed a thin plastic sleeve to slip the cd cover into to keep it centered and in place but since that wasn't the case that task was also quite finicky to get it centered without it falling in the hole while also trying to tape it since there is only about a millimeter of overhang on each side. Having to use tape to secure it means with this design its unlikely you'll be able to revert this process without ripping the back of the cover. Finally, one of the thumb tabs fell out and was in the plastic when i received it so there is no support in that area, the rest were intact but quite sharp so be careful if you purchase it. It looks good in the end but it was a lot of extra effort when a few small design choices could've made this much better straight out the box.
These used to come packaged nice and secure an about 3 months ago the company switched the packaging putting tons of staples in the back and lowering the quality of the metal closers in the back and removing the plastic wrap completely. These used to be a great product, but cutting costs have really showed for this item. Very disappointed in the new look.
