An excellent unit that replaced exactly the same BBQ that was 12 years old and still operational but starting to show its' age for being used 2-3 times a week.
Absolutely love & adore my new Weber Grill. The service I received was amazing and the way Weber stood behind the replacement of a new one was admirable. The highest standard possible in the industry!!! I have told all my family & friends to only purchase a Weber Grill. It's the Rolls Royce of them all. Thanks again... I salute Weber!!
My new Summit exceeded my expectations. This grill replaced a 20 year old Summit. Never covered my old grill....used it all winter long. Hope to repeat history.
Love it! We replaced our old Summit from the late 1990's. I have appreciated all the features and large cooking area (which is a major reason we stuck with the Summit). I am new to rotisserie cooking and used it (so far) to make duck, beef roast, and a pineapple. All worth the effort. I like that the smoker box has a dedicated burner. The sear station is more handy than I originally believed it would be. It is great when I sous vide something and just want a quick sear. Still trying to figure out the hot spots and cool spots. We made bratwursts and had the whole grill loaded. There was some juggling around with the hot/cool areas above the same burner lines. I like the storage for the rotisserie forks and rod. Side burner works as advertised. Boiled water for corn on the cob while doing other tasks. I did have an issue with the burners getting blown out when set low on a windy day, but -wind-, what can you do?
This is my second Summit S-670 it replaces one that still operable was getting harder and harder to care for after 12 years of excellent service. Looking forward to at least another 12 years. BTW I gave the old one away to someone who was extremely appreciative and needed a working grill but wasn't able to afford one as nice as the Webber
This is my second S-670. I had my first for 10 years and handed it down to my son. This one came in and I had no problem putting it together...took about 1 1/2 hours. Fired it up a few days later and it cooked fantastic. It seemed to have better heat distribution and the burners could be turned down further than my old one to allow for better overall temperature control.
I've been a Weber grill user for a long time. 25 years from the last one. So far, grill is doing very well. Like the smoker a lot. Not sure I'll use all the extra features like the rotisserie or sear station but, that what's on the grill. So far, all good.
I've had a Weber grill for the last 15 years, but with all the extra time we have been spending at home these days, I wanted to be able to fit more on the grill and experiment with smoking, slow cooking and rotisserie. I didn't want to go out and get a separate smoker and a larger grill, so I went with the Summit. Let me tell you, it does it all. I've smoked ribs, chicken wings and beer can chicken, I've rotisserie smoked a turkey. I had enough room to slow cook 4 racks of ribs and chicken wings for 15 people for my daughters birthday. This grill really is a one stop shop for all my grilling needs. Love it and I am very happy with my purchase.
Complicated BBQ with lots of gadgetry so read the owners manual thoroughly. Control knobs are fragile and tend to snap off if you dont push, turn, then push then turn. We've got through two knobs in less than a week.
There are some design and material improvements that would go a long way to increasing the useful life of the grill. Where possible steel components (specifically fasteners , brackets, shield covers, frame structure) should be replaced with aluminum or stainless steel (corrosion resistant materials). There are some components that will last forever, but there are some simple parts that corrode prematurely and need upgrading (simple example are the screws that hold the side burner together).
