The name of the chipper was not for the one I needed, but when I opened the bos it was the same. Great! It works.
I am a firm believer in having "Back Up Parts"....I cannot honestly rate these blades but based on the original blades with the chipper, the blades are extremely good and I would rate them as Excellent......
Small and easy to store, and blade replacement looks straightforward. Good to have a couple on hand.
Exact replacement for original SunJoe chipper/shredder. Could be a little sharper, but I sharpened them myself. Nice to have a back up pair for when you are doing a bigger job.
This is the third year with the Sunjoe chipper. I've chipped fruit wood, evergreen, corn stalks, sunflower trunks, grape vine, blackberry, rose bush cuttings, and branches maybe 2 inch diameter, anything larger won't fit into the opening gate. I feed them in slowly, so the motor doesn't bog down and trip the circuit breaker. I've have an extra set of blades and sharpen them as needed. I rotate or change them every few hours. If the chipper blades are dull you're wasting your time and overworking the chipper. From time to time the chipper needs to be opened and checked for stringy fibers that tend to wind up on the spinning anchor nut, holding the blade carrier to the power shaft. I recently broke the "splash guard" feeding a 1" plus diameter branch into the hopper. Somehow, one of the blades plowed into the casting and shaved off part of the casting and chipped the blade. The casting is listed as a replacement part so when it arrives, I'll continue with my third year of service. The machine is very light and easy to move around. As long as I keep my portable generator close by I can use this chipper all over my property. I like the electric chipper over gas because I don't use this thing more than maybe twenty five hours a year and most of the time it sits, but because it doesn't have a carburetor, I don't need to rebuild the carb every season for lack of use. The wood chips are also a plus for pathways and ground cover, compared to a pile of brush. For the price, it's worth it, for what you can get done.
Thought the blades that came with Sun Joe would dull alot faster with heavy use, but surprised at how well the blades have held up so far. Have not had to reverse the blades after 2 months of weekly use for 10 to 15 dead branches a week. But having the spares makes me feel more comfortable. Their not cheap but if the unit lasts, they will have been worth it.
seems to be correct blade, I have not installed it yet.
I purchased a replacement set of blades for my CJ602E chipper, when I purchased the chipper. The chipper blades will wear and become dull after a period of time. Although the blades are two sided and can be removed and flipped over to get a sharp edge facing up, I decided to keep an extra set of blades on hand. When I see the chippers efficiency begin to drop off (i.e. it takes longer to chip sticks), if I already flipped the 2 blades on the chipping disk, I will replace them and then re-sharpen the old blades, so they are ready when the new blades get dull. IMPORTANT NOTE: Replacement blades are sold as a single piece and the chipper disk requires 2 blades, so make sure you buy 2. The chipper comes with a wrench that will remove the 2 Allen head screws that hold each blade in place. The bolts are very tight (for good reason !), so removing them takes a little work, but once removed the old blade pops out and can be quickly flipped over or replaced .
I felt the shipping charges were expensive. The original blade broke in half during use, and it probaly had less than 10 hours of use. changing the blade requires thorough cleaning of the hex head screws that secure it, liberal use of penetrating fluid and a fair amount of strength because they are torqued VERY tight.
I agree with previous poster - it is very disappointing that these have been out of stock for so long! At the very least please provide information about alternative products from other suppliers.
