Wow! I'm amazed at what this can do. You will not be disappointed, I didn't take the bag off as it filled to quickly and just went over it with my mower when I was done. Don't forget the batteries 🤣 I thought I was buying the corded one so had to wait a couple extra days for batteries and charger.
This is our 2nd one. We downsized and had to donate our first one. This one is better than our first. it handled .80 of an acre. Bag is still to small but due to size of the yard and previous owner not keeping yard maintain, I was very happy on how this product handled the yard. Easy to use, light weight and less bulky than our first one. Highly recommend this product!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never knew how much I needed this but it is amazing. I am loving being able to go through and dethatch the lawn and then I have been sprinkling a new tough grass seed, meant for pets, all over to help make our lawn healthy and beautiful again. I also enjoy how all the grass and everything goes into the back and we have been putting it in our compost pile. I was worried about the power of it because it is battery operated but this is pretty strong and works great. I can do my whole yard and then some before charging the batteries.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sun Joe cordless lawn scarifier and dethatcher was packaged nicely with all parts accounted for. The assembly and operation instructions were easy to follow. I charged up the two batteries and proceeded to using the thatching attachment on my front lawn. The operation was simple you just press the button pull the handle back then once it starts you release the button. It worked really good at getting all the dead grass up and into the bag. I was happy with the operation of the unit overall and was pleased it didn't drag or pull me. My only suggestion for the unit would be that the batteries lasted longer and that the collection bag was larger.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Sun Joe 24V-X2-DTS15 Scarifier and Dethatcher Kit to try out and this works great! It was very easy to put together and easy to use. I love that it comes with a thatch collection bag. It makes things easier. It is lightweight and the batteries last surprisingly long! This is a great product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that this is so light weight. It's very easy to assemble and comes with a bag to use when dethatching. I never realized how much I needed this for my yard. My yard has never looked so great. Batteries last a long time as well
While it was working it did a good job. Unfortunately the motor died after 1 season. To purchase the motor alone was the same as purchasing a new machine. Glad it worked well, sad it died so soon. I don't have a very large yard and it's been dethatched every 2 years, I don't understand what happened but I'm not a mechanic. Live and learn.
I am glad I bought a detacher versus renting one as it has paid for itself. This product works well, but I have two major complaints. 1) It doesn't matter how low I cut my grass before scarifying or dethatching, or at what setting I have the height at... I am constantly having to reseed the battery if the motor decides to "stop". My lawn is only about 1100sq ft, but on average I am reseeding my batteries 20 - 30 times. It is very frustrating as I lose momentum when I am trying to work on my lawn. 2) There should be a plug in option for the reason above. I do like using the unit, but I am also wondering if a bigger battery could help.
Was really hoping to love this product. however, after unboxing the unit and assembling, charging the batteries, was looking forward to using it. Unfortunately, after using it for less than 10 minutes , the fully charged batteries die out , I got less than 100 feet of my lawn done. This thing scarifies well but I am sending it back, and will pick up the much cheaper electric version. If you don't mind dealing with using an electric cord, I would suggest going this way. the cordless version could take you all year to do your lawn..
I was excited to receive my Sun Joe 48-Volt Scarifier and Dethatcher. The assembly was pretty easy. A PRO to the 48-volt Sun Joe is that it has the right amount of power the unit. When running the dethatcher, I couldn't believe the amount of thatch this unit was pulling up. I also love the fact that you can adjust the depth of the unit. Now, the bad, the batteries for this unit does not last long at all. You need two to three sets of batteries to do a small yard. After about 1 1/2 passes of about 10 feet the unit cuts off because either the batteries are getting too hot or it produced too much resistance for the motor. So, I walked much slower for the resistance of the motor. Walking slower didn't work like I thought it would, the unit still cut off. Per the instructions, I removed the batteries and waited five minutes. That worked, but the most frustrating part about this was it took me two days to do my small yard plus having to recharge the batteries. The way it sits, this unit is of no use to me because it just does not run long enough for me to get the job done. What a major disappointment. I am looking to return the unit or see if they have something that will work better.
