I remember electric blankets from the '60s at my Grandmother's. "Wooly, itchy, cordy". NOT this. Works like a champ. Might take you a couple of nights to "dial it in" and find YOUR "perfect sleep number... 1 thru 10 BUT once you do.....sheer bliss. Walk by before turning in, hit the ON button, arrive moments later to a toasty bed. WONDERFUL!
Love it but unfortunately I didn't get to use it. I purchase this for myself and my mother came to visit and fell in love with it and took it home with her. Feels so soft and I was only able to touch it for a few minutes lol . I am making another purchase hopefully no one ask me for it.
i just received this Heated blanket. It is very nice. Not too thick, some may think its a little thin but it is plush and soft and heats up evenly. I really like that I can machine wash it, of coarse you have to remove the control device. I just hope it lasts a long time, because I really like it.
Quality: This blanket warms the bed nicely even in lower settings, but is very thin, you can feel the wires on you.. If you shut it off through the night it will not keep you warm. The previous one I had was thicker and would keep you warm even if it was off, also you could not feel the wires. The Plush Fabric is lovely, very soft but should be thicker. Price: The price could be lower because of the thickness (you can feel the wires on you) The packing and delivery: The packing was good, the box containing the blanket was had no signs of bad handling. The delivery was as expected, it arrived on time.
I read the reviews and compared different ones before I bought this one. I'll admit that the price/being on sale was my main reason for this purchase. With that being said, I think it is wonderful. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but it gets the job done. Its thin, so you can feel the wires, but it isn't a big deal since won't feel them if its on you; however, even with it turned off, it is pretty warm. I found that using it has a base, with another blanket is very toasty! I will say that it claims to have a pre-heat setting, but this blanket does NOT! Although, I believe it would be nice to have the pre-heat setting, if you turn it on under another blanket, it will get warm! Also, it doesn't have any time device, just a simple dial and a on/off button (but it does cut off after 10 hours!) If you're looking for a simple heated blanket that isn't very expensive, I would recommend it!
The only reason why I don't recommend this product to anyone any longer as I did before, is because I get the same answer from everyone ~>"Too Expensive". The fact is that the cost of the electric blanket is a bit high; but I needed it for this (winter) time of the year. I also knew I was going to have NO HEAT for a while. I am glad I live in California because the cold season does not last that long but this blanket overall did serve it's purpose.
The blanket is soft and heats well at the moment. The blanket is thin and you can see & feel the wires. I have had to buy a new electic blanket every year because none of them last very long. Back in the 80's & early 90's you could buy a sunbeam blanket and it would last for years. Don't know why they can't do that now?
I have a king size bed and always have a problem with cold spots. This electric blanket works well and has an even heat distribution. No more cold spots! The size is good, but it barely covers my extra deep mattress, so I can't imagine buying a size down, as some reviewers suggested. The blanket works well! I previously slept with three quilts and a comforter on my bed. Now, I have a quilt, the electric blanket, and then a second quilt on top. (I like the weight of the quilts.) I set the blanket on two and it is extremely comfortable. The blanket is soft and stretchy, but that means you can feel and see the wires. For me, this is no problem, but I can understand it may bother some folks. There is a fair bit of "shedding" with this blanket, but that is normal with this type of material. Controls are easy to use, but the electrical cords are heavy and it does not take much for the control to fall off the side table. I had to secure the cords to the side tables to prevent them falling off.
This is my third blanket. each quit working on left side at all which barely got used. The right side cooked you like a baked potato. Less than a year old. never washed. Sunbeam wanted me to pay and ship it to them and be without it for weeks while they test it. Not my idea of a warranty. keep the box and receipt as you will need them to exchange or return it. I've found this to be a good idea for most big Walmart purchases.
This blanket's control blinks constantly. The blanket cannot be turned off at the control and has to be unplugged to be turned off. The auto turnoff does not work at all. I have always had sunbeam electric blankets and the quality has taken a nosedive.
