Sunbeam Sherpa Microplush Electric Heated Throw Blanket - African Leopard

My mom uses this blanket 24/7. She's elderly and bedridden, suffering from Fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. The blanket keeps her almost pain free. She loves the colorful paisley pattern. She spilled a whole glass of tomato juice on it a couple days after she got it and I was heartsick. There was no recourse but to wash it, and I knew from experience electric blankets rarely work after washing. I carefully followed instructions in the included manual, agitating in the washer on gentle cycle for only three minutes, rinsing on gentle for another three, and spinning dry for another three. I threw it over the shower rod to dry for 24 hours to be sure it was completely dry. It came through the wash beautifully, looking as fresh and new as it had the day it came out of the package. And when we plugged it in, it worked! I couldn't be happier with this purchase. It was worth every penny. I won't be afraid to wash it again (because Mom will spill again) and I would definitely purchase another. It would be a lovely gift for anyone!

In the winter our basement is really cold and that's where our big TV is. Without this heated throw, I wouldn't be able to tolerate it. It's also great for heating up the bed before I climb in at night. Works great. Highly recommended.

I do like this to carry with me most anywhere I go that I know I'll be sitting for a longer period of time. I have a very bad back and heat on my back is the only way to help control some of the pain. Not to mention if staying at a hotel I want the heat

Since this past Dec. I have purchased 5 different heating blankets. I will review this one first. I bought the teal paisley version. Of all the blankets I bought this is the best quality. It is THICK. The wires are not at all noticeable. Someone mentioned it didn't get all that hot....but I feel each setting gets hot enough to work fine. It does NOT get HEATING PAD HOT....as the Queen Sunbeam I bought did (listed as #2). 2. My husband first got me the Queen Sunbeam (around $67- and returned that one because it was too big for my recliner.) It can be found on this site and model # begins w #'s BSF9LQ. Walmart #553451400. This other Sunbeam was not a Sherpa but wow did it get hot....and great for someone with a painful condition like Lupus, Fibromyalgia or Arthritis. No Sherpa, but very soft material. It had 2- button controllers. So for those that want a HOT, or LARGE blanket I highly recommend this other one. 3. At a store LIKE Walmart, I purchased a TWINsz Sherpa by CANNON. It was awful. Did not heat at all and needed to return it to the store. 4. This Cannon blanket had a "lookalike" Twin sz Sherpa by the co. "Biddeford Sherpa" twin sz. I loved this blanket but the quality thickness etc. was not as good as Sunbeam teal paisley throw- this page. It was only $30 I didn't buy it here or online for that matter.... I had to go in store to get it. 5. Finally, Walmart offers a throw for 19.96. Search keywords are: HEATED BLANKET 19.99. Its Walmart # is 550017167. It didn't have home delivery when I first got it bought the grey/teal version of that and the material feels more like wool, almost... (it says it is Polyester). It is not as soft. I bought 2 of those and gave one to a stray cat in our neighborhood, in his box, he snuggles and & loves it! I would NOT recommend this blanket (UNLESS you too have a stray cat!) but it is definitely worth spending $10- more for the Sunbeam Sherpa on this page. *Note: upon reviewing this item, they have added home delivery w-s/h of 4.96 addl. so be sure to recognize the cheaper blanket for 19.96 has a SECOND page where the SAME blanket CAN BE MAILED. As a connoisseur of heated throws, this is the most luxurious one I've ever owned! Due to peripheral neuropathy I use one evert day, year round. Wish I had ore red two. Oh, also the softest one ever!

I bought this for infusion day to keep me warm and it did it's job. I hope it lasts, I did follow washing instructions.

This throw has an automatic 3 hour shut-off, which is perfect for using on a bed at night. It also has a fairly long cord, so can be used in a chair or on a couch if there's an outlet within 8 or 10 feet. It's not super plushy since it has electrical cords running through it, but the sherpa side is very soft and comfortable. It heats up very quickly. I would say it's a good size for a twin bed and for using in a chair or on the couch, but probably not big enough for a queen size bed. I haven't had to wash it yet, but so far I'm happy with this product.

Had already purchased one for my wife a while back. Wanted one for myself as they are a good size for lounging in front of TV and staying warm on a chilly night. YES, the cord is a little short between the control and the blanket. A minor inconvenience but not a deal breaker. Blanket works as described and is quite comfortable and soft. Works for me and my wife!

Just received yesterday and was disappointed with the length of the controller! It is SO. SHORT!!! You can't have the cord at the feet, where it should be. Instead you have to have it on your lap so you can control the warmth without reaching down for the controller if it's at your feet! It does heat quickly and is warm, but come on people! Can you make the cord of the controller a little longer so you can have it nearer to your hands rather than at the foot of the blanket?! It's so disappointing. If I didn't need it now, I would return it, no doubt. I won't buy these anymore till I check the length of the controller.
