I've tried every other booster, and this is the winner, it moves more air, so it can be set at a lower speed (so you don't hear it running) and sounds more like a fan than a swarm of gnats on your vent. There is a number you call to get wall mount feet for it too, if you need to do that. Old houses with the 2" x 10" vent? This covers them too!! I have 3 of these now, and they move so much more air than the other ones that look like a computer fan stuck under a grate. Highly recommended. Sometimes getting what you pay for and paying for what you need overlap, and this vent fan is one place that paying the extra few dollars for much greater performance is worth it. I experimented for you, don't waste the time and money (and effort making adapters for a non-fitting vent fan) just buy these and be done with it
The product listing said it came with an adaptor so it would fit up to 13x6. The package I received did not include the adaptor so it doesn't fit the vent I bought it for. Every time W-mart asks me for feedback I let them know this, but no one has followed up.
once I set it on the fan-only-high setting, it did exactly what I needed it to - the hottest room in the house dropped to the same temperature as the other rooms. it evened it out of perfectly. Yes, it's noisy on the high setting (about the same as the kitchen vent over the stove) but we're willing to live with that in order to stay cool.
My bedrooms are always much warmer than the downstairs and when I have guests staying with me and it is hot out they do not benefit from the air conditioning. The Equalizer HC600 EZ8 has made a difference. Easy to use and helps cool off the upstairs rooms
It doesn't seem to be very easy to set up when it shuts off. I thought it came on every time the fan would start running on the furnace? I haven't seen this thing shut off yet.
It does work, it does bring some cool air to the second floor. The auto feature does not seem to be working.
Works great. Booster cools and heats an area I couldn't keep regulated before.
