Prefer the brown rusty look over the bright orange and I'm protecting it from rusting beyond the desired look. Should last a long, long, time. Great addition to the yard. Thank you!

I just love it ! Arrived well packed in perfect shape. As others have said, we drilled a hole in the bottom for rain water to drain out. We also sprayed the whole thing with clear heat resistant paint to keep it from rusting out. (You find it at auto parts shops.). My only negative is that it is really expensive, but so unique that you won't find any fire pit like it, so I'm glad I bought it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful chiminea! What I was looking for aesthetically. In terms of function and quality, I am not yet certain. The fire started up great. I thought there would be a little better smoke control with the chiminea vent stack, but it still has quit a bit of smoke consume the area around us when we had the fire starting and fully going. For the price I expected a little bit more quality. The piece came with two fairly sizable dents - but going to consider them character flaws. One of the welded bolts for the foot connection started to bust when I screwed in the foot to the base. I'll be curious how the screwed connections stand up over time.

Very attractive, easy to assemble and most of the smoke does go up the chimney if you know how and where to build the fire and which direction to angle it if it's windy. The problem is that all the wonderful coals fall right through the grate. To solve that we're going to add a solid metal plate on top of the grate.

This is a great looking metal chiminea but it has three major flaws. First, it's not 3mm thick as advertised. The metal may be 1.5mm think at the most and it's folded over it's self along some of its edges to look like it's 3mm thick. I don't expect it will last more than 2 years with the thin gauge steel it's made of, and that's sad for the price I paid. Second, there's no drain holes in the base. Rain water can collect and fill the base which will speed up the corrosion. I'll either have to get a cover for it or drill some drain holes in the base. Third, smoke doesn't go up the chimney as I would expect it to. Not sure why. Maybe the firebox opening is too wide open, but smoke definitely gets in your face with this design. Too bad since it was so expensive.

The quality is not good. It's thinner than 3mm in most places and the patina is rapidly being replaced with real rust which is staining our patio. The very large opening (which obviously saves steel and therefore money) has two negative consequences. First it allows a huge amount of rain in, and there's nowhere for it to go. Second, it doesn't draw well. The smoke would much rather billow out of the opening than go up the too narrow chimney. So it doesn't work well and it won't last.

After one year and less than a dozen uses the whole back of this thing rotted out, at cost of over 400 this is the biggest rip off I have ever experienced, really wish I could attach a pic, I feel totally taken advantage of, yes it looks good but don't don't do it total rip off.

Love the way chimenea looks. But parts were missing so we reached out to company and they sent. When finally assembled we had a few fires and screws melted so we had to use our own which donâ€:tm:t look as good. Main complaint is amount of smoke that comes right out the front and onto to us. Right now I smell like I spent the night in a smoker. Very unpleasant.

Cheap, thin steel construction. Open design also does not capture smoke from fire and up chimney. No weep hole on bottom of base so that rain water collects. Horrible product. Sad we bought. Would return but for hassle factor of having spent assembling product.
