Great for the money, and it actually works!!

GoodDEAL4u July 20, 2007

This machine is very well priced. And, when they say it cools up to 12 degrees, it gets pretty close to it. Even on really hot days, it still works. Whats more, it doesnt require constantly having to fill it with water. I use it approx 5 days a week for hours on end, have had it for 2 weeks, and i have filled it only twice.

Great cooler for the price

Kodibc October 26, 2007

The Sunpentown evaporative cooler is a great product. I use it at work, as our old building doesn't have any kind of air conditioning. This summer was brutal and I bought the Sunpentown at the end of the season. It was great! One of my co-workers has had one for years and I am glad I finally got my own.

Good Product at a Great Price

baker98391 July 7, 2007

This is a very reasonably priced and effective cooling unit. It is compact and on wheels, so it is very easy to store and move from room to room. If effectively cools an average-sized room very quickly. You have to add water and ice, which is pretty much the only drawback of the unit and even that isn't really a drawback - just a minor inconvenience. The water capacity is pretty large so you may need a few trips with a pitcher to fill it up. But add the ice and the cooling effect is great! Plus, it uses much less energy than a window cooling unit. It is fairly quiet as well - maybe the same sound level as an oscillating fan on high. The remote control is a great feature, as well. Highly recommended for cooling small areas.

Nice unit but limited

Burd July 18, 2007

This unit does what it claims to do. Don't buy htis product if you are planning on putting it in a really warm room. I bought this for my computer room and on hot days it just can't keep up with the normal heat as well as the heat generated by the computers. the unit also makes the air very moist on really hot days. You have to fill this unit around every 10 hours, so be prepared to do a little work to keep it running all day. The remote control works great, this would make a great bedroom unit at night.

Very cool

Knedliky July 27, 2007

it help to cool hot spots in house specially in kitchen. Seldom have to turn air condition on even on hot days. Like the 2.8 gal water capacity and 60 watts power use .

A somewhat helpful product

CoolAirDude July 19, 2007

The cooler had a number a excellent features and options for use. It did cool the air and would be fine for a small area for optimum cooling. The real downside was the fact that the pump made the water sound loud enough to wake a person up and keep them awake. Not the simple sound of rain or a stream, more like a very very loud constant dripping faucet, and the timer only went for 7.5 hours. But for the money it did cool and was compact with numerous features.

Not for Michigan's humid days

Niles August 26, 2007

The air cooler makes a great expensive humidifier. Unfortunately it does not work in Michigan because of the high humid days and non humid days. It did not cool down the rooms that I tried it in even though I added the ice. But it did increase the humidity of those rooms.

Doesn't perform well at all

RodeoQueen August 14, 2007

I bought this product to cool a small cab over camper. When I tried to use the cooler the speed button and the swing button didn't work. Since I was in a real bind i decided to go ahead and use the cooler. The speed was stuck on high so i figured it would at least keep the camper cool. It didn't work at all. No matter what I did I couldn't even get cool air to blow out of the darn thing. I am not happy with this product at all.

Air-Muggy'er NOT Air-Cooler

CandiandCoco July 12, 2008

This is by far the worst thing you can turn on if you want to cool down a room. When I first bought it, I turned it on, and left the room for about an hour to see how it would cool down the room. Boy, was that a mistake! When I got back into the room, it was hotter than the rest of the house AND I felt like I was living in the South on the most humid day of the year! Horrible experience!! This thing does not cool at all, if anything, it made the room warmer and MUGGY! The fan works ok, but it is really LOUD. I also don't know what the "swing" control does... it didn't seem to do much of anything. The humidifyer/cooler is absolutely ridiculous. Do not buy this thing. Spend an extra $100 and buy a real air conditioner. Oh, and trying to get the water out of this thing was a disaster! I emptied it out, so I could return it and water got everywhere and leaked all over the whole thing! Not sure if it works after that. Hopefully they don't sell you the one I returned!! This thing is a nightmare.

cheap

wkczzz August 8, 2007

I only used this cooler a few times before it broke, and the warranty service was poor. This item has electronic controls that are very flimsy. Buy a more powerful unit with analog controls.
