Supco Relay Overload Capacitor Refrigerator

Fridge stopped being cold and spoiled all foods. It was still blowing out air inside the compartments. Searched online and many pointed to capacitor. This part came up many times, along with the oem parts. Had my handyman uncle check out the fridge and he said compressor was super hot, since not able to get jump started. He confirmed this is the part to try. Price was the best here on Walmart.com and it arrived fast as always. Read the simple instructions on the product packaging and went to work myself, since uncle was not available for a week. Removed the capacitor/relay rectangular that was attached to the side of the compressor. 3 pins on compressor in triangular pattern matched the instructions for this universal part. I had to pause on where to connect the 2 black power lines, since the parts I removed seemed to have several wires on it. Upon closer look, there were just 2 wires, a Blue and Yellow, on my unit. It just had other wires splitting off from where it connected to the rectangular capacitor/relay parts I had removed. I am not an electrical person, but felt comfortable connecting the 2 black power wires to the blue and yellow wires, since that's the only logical way! Took the old capacitor and plugged into the clips provided on the Red and White wire of this unit. Again, not sure why need to reuse old capacitor if this unit is a capacitor relay all in one, but I only followed the instructions. Plugged in and it powered up starting to blow cold air again. Extremely happy to have this small part fix an otherwise $1,000 expenditure for new fridge! If your fridge stopped being cold, but is still blowing out air inside the compartments, give this a try first since it's so affordable!
