Super Poligrip Extra Strength Denture and Partials Adhesive Powder, 1.6 Oz, for Adults

I am new to dentures %26 there are lots of small challenges to learning to live with them. Having a good firm hold is Number 1. I first used popular brand of pink paste that was in my take-home bag. The taste was horrible %26 had to be reapplied during the day. I tried Poligrip's paste %26 it was SO much better - esp. for having no taste. However, someone mentioned that, since my dentures are new %26 well-fitting %26 I should be using the powder. I don't need to fill in any gaps or looseness. Guess, what? This powder is PERFECT. Pros: easier to use than pastes %26 a no-brainer application for new users covers the entire plate blocks out ALL food particles my new dentures are comfortable, but the hold of the powder gives me more confidence; I can talk and eat (a little for now!) without worrying It holds MORE than 12 hours for me. I only take them out at bedtime %26 I rinse several times a day after drinking/eating anything The cleanup is slightly less messy than with paste There is ZERO taste. That is great because the other brand had a horrible taste. I hated having to remove the plate to clean because I'd have to taste that paste. this is AFFORDABLE %26 that is so important to me The hold is really important as a new wearer. I produce a lot of excess saliva (it's getting better), and having such a good adhesive really helps. There are NO negatives, IMO. Because this sealed my dentures in so well, I am actually talking better and able to actually eat small bits of food. I was told that eating might take weeks since I've been without teeth for several months. Prior to this, I felt less sure about even eating small bites of bread. This stabilized my plate so well that I just had more confidence. I know that I am speaking almost completely normal (and my dentures are only 4 days old!) Since I was toothless for almost a year, my dentist warned that I'd need more than usual for my mouth %26 face to adjust. The 1st couple of days, my tongue felt huge %26 would push at the plate. Also, I'm not used to having dentures so talking w/them is a learning process. An adhesive that FIRMLY hold the plate is so important. Now that my mouth/face is getting more adjusted, I am so glad that I found this powder. It definetly is speeding up the process of learning to live with my dentures. I'd suggest that, if you plates are newer %26 if you don't need to cushion any weak or worn spots, go with a powder. If you want the best hold ever for the longest period, go with this one.

Wow. I will never go back to adhesive cream. This was very secure and very easy cleanup. I lightly dampen my (temporary) denture, shake off excess water, then apply the powder liberally over the entire denture. Immediately shake off the excess powder onto a napkin, allowing only a light dusting to remain. Insert the denture in place, then hold for a few seconds for a super tight seal. I save the excess powder in a small ziplock and refill the bottle when it is running low. Removing my denture (several hours and meals later) is a breeze and so very different from the mess and residue left behind by adhesive creams. Simply use a warm water rinse to loosen the hold then soak the dentures in Polident to remove the small amount of residue. Highly recommend. Super easy, no mess, holds great.

This stuff is a game changer. I was using the adhesive in a tube prior to finding this. I would spend 5 to 10 minutes trying to get it off the roof of my mouth after removing my denture. With the powder, I no longer have to do that.

so easy to use and simple but the best part is the thickness or better said thinness as creams and gels are thick and bulky and the powder lets my dentures fit my gums perfectly. cleanup is much easier because the adhesive dissolves completely. I will never go back to creams.

i refuse to use the glue, paste, gel, GAG! this powder is mess free and so thin i didn't gag! i just had breakfast and the first time in 15yrs i don't have to pop my dentures out in the bathroom and rinse off the food residue and crumbs.. i can smile big, and open wide for a bite of food and not lose the bottoms! this is a must have! im stocking up before they hike the price or sell out!

I've been using Super Polident powder for quite a few years, and it holds my dental plate firmly from morning until night. Cleaning my plate is very easy compared to the cream type of adhesive which was much more messy. Also, Polident products contain NO zinc!! Try it, you'll like it.

The other stuff was messy, but this makes it easy to cleanup my dentures after use. They don't stay in long for me, but my dentures need to be adjusted, so I am not sure how it long it will stay in for others. Great for removing dentures easily and hassle free.

Been using this product for several years now it is my favorite type of denture adhesive. I will say if you use too much and end up swallowing some it can upset your stomach. Just be careful to only use the amount you're supposed to otherwise great product.

I have been using this product for nearly 30 years. My dentist introduced it to me as the best product for securing dentures. It is easy to clean off ..... unlike other products that act like a caulk. So! Now the Big Shots in the pharmacies in this country have decided that we war babies and baby boomers NEED the caulk junk. You can't find it in Wallgreens, Jewel, Mijers, CVS and a whole lot of independent stores. It's been discontinued. I was lucky to find it at Wallmart On-line. I sure hope you can keep it in your stores because the only other place to go is the United Kingdom. The original producers were in Ireland. Don't you find it unusual that Europe still carries it in their pharmacies?

I like this particular denture adhesive powder as opposed to the other ones and the strips and pastes. I've tried just about everything on the market. As far as the top dentures most people that wear both upper and lower know that the tops stay in place better but if you need help this powder is so much better than the rest. The pastes are so messy, I find that the strips release to much glue at a steady rate the entire time your wearing them. The powder doesn't take as much and doesn't release as much glue into your mouth. The big issue I have with this is you can drink anything, hot or cold with no issues. As soon as you start to eat something..good luck! The seal is easily broken when I try to eat. It's usually by the 3rd-5th bite. Overall I really like this to keep them in place for talking and drinking but not for eating. Unless it's just for your top plate I have no issues with it keeping the top in place just the bottom.
