Walmart home delivery was crazy fast! This is the cheapest Full Synthetic oil you can find anywhere, full stop! It's enough for two oil changes for an SUV. It would cover 3 oil changes in a sedan, and probably four oil changes in a small compact car. My car doesnt even hum now, very quite and drives so smooth, compared to before thenoil change.
This is the way to do your own oil changes..When you first open it,feel around for the spigot and pull it out a little.Swivel it around til it is in the right direction, wiggle and pull until it sticks out far enough.Get an empty 5 qt oil jug and open the spigot ccw.It will come out fast or slow depending on how much you open the spigot.I use one hand on the spigot the other on the jug and set it on a shelf or tool chest to dispense. This is the same way Ebox oils are dispensed by the techs in the Auto Care Center, when you close the spigot make sure it cant drip and flip the box up where the spigot is on top and store it away until next oil change. You can buy an oil dispenser with markings on it for quarts or liters and it will have its own funnel built in.If you do,be sure to keep it covered until the next use so dirt wont get in.The Super-tech oil is as good as any if you buy it for its intended use by API service classification.
An incredible value on a good quality synthetic oil. Its a modern bag in box package, which has a pop out spigot which you can rotate position on. Once set up, Just turn on and off to dispense. It helps if you have a measuring cup if you need precise amounts. I use my Ratio-Rite oil cup. The package greatly reduces plastic waste. The inner bag and outer cardboard flatten out for easy recycling and disposal.
The nozzle is very easy to use and it contains a open and close valve that works smoothly, but the nozzle could be longer in my opinion to prevent spillage on top of the box and improve versatility overall especially when pouring the oil into small separate containers for top off/measuring it out during a oil change in single quarts at a time. Spillage was not a issue for me but if not careful you could easily make a mess. Overall I was impressed how well the nozzle design was at preventing oil from dripping when returning the box back to a upright position after filling several quart bottles.
IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS CAR PERSON THEN YOU KNOW WHAT THE NAME BRANDS OIL GET FOR MONEY. THIS IS A PRETTY NICE OIL. I AM A RETIRED LEO AND I STILL HAVE A POLICE INTERCEPTOR. I DO OIL CHANGES 3500 MILES AND YOU REALLY CANT BEAT THIS PRICE. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT HAS A SHOP. HE SAVES HIS 5QT. EMPTY CONTAINERS FOR ME. I SPLIT THESE BOXES INTO 5QT CONTAINERS FOR EASE. IT REALLY IS A NICE OIL. USING IT FOR YEARS.
I like the waste reducing packaging and the quantity of oil in it, but you no longer have a container for the used oil.
I've looked a few used oil analysis's for supertech oil and they indicate that this is a good oil that takes good care of the engine. Overall I like the discount for buying it in bulk though it's necessary to have another container to add transfer the oil to first. It would be extremely difficult to add oil directly from this container to the engine. The shutoff valve works well and does not drip at all when shut off.
This is a little awkward to use and you won't know how much you've poured out. The plastic jugs have the measuring scale on the side. I did the math and the regular 5 quart jug is $13.97 but 5 quarts of 'the box' costs $12.48. So you save around $1.50. The other thing is jugs give you something to pour the used oil in to. Might be hard with this. Whatever is best for you is what I think.
not what I expected maybe I just didn't read the entire description I thought I would be getting 12 Individual quarts but instead it was 12 quarts in a bulk bag with a nozzle for dispensing.
Be aware! Advertised as 12 quarts… My box had 11 quarts. I transferred to an empty 5 quart jug and a 1 quart jug. Used them and then went to refill. We'll, surprise, surprise! I only got to refill the 5 quart jug. It was still a cheaper price buying in bulk, but not the quantity that was advertised. If you are counting on the full 12 quarts, better buy an extra!
