The tires on the 25 ton unit that I have are fine when rolling on a smooth surface such as concrete. However, moving the unit on gravel or turf, the narrow Wheels sink in and make a difficult to move the unit. I recommend that this unit Have wider tires.

The Super Handy 25 ton gas log splitter was assembled fairly easily. But the instruction manual that came with it was obviously from an earlier model, and some of the parts were different, with different assembly requirements. After filling the hydraulic oil, engine oil, and engine gas tank, the engine pull-started easily, and I let it run for at least 20 min. before splitting any logs. I had some oak logs 20" wide and 18" long with branch knots in them, and this log splitter easily split them. Paul.

Out of the box the horizontal log splitting lock pin would not engage. Vertical log splitting did lock into position and I could use that. It split everything I had. However, when I put it away I noticed that one of the support legs was bent after the first use. It works, but it is also broken out of the box and could not surive half a day of vertical log splitting. I called Superhandy at 1-866-493-0524 and no one was there to take my call. Left a message. It is looking like I will return it to Walmart. Glad I bought the 4 year warranty, as I will be needing it.
