Helps protect my horses eyes, and stays on.
Fits good, stays on.
One of my horses attracts gnats in a big way. The others don't have that much problem with them. I decided to replace his regular mask without ears this time with one that did have ears. It has done a good job of keeping both the flies and gnats away from his face this summer.
Great fit but horses get mask off easier with fuzzy trim.
I've been using Supermasks for 20 years, and have always loved them!! They are durable, comfortable for the horses, and they work! However, I just discovered (upon receiving my recent order) that the Foal size has been re-designed. It is quite a bit larger, and the velcro closure has been moved lower and elastic added. Unfortunately, this size change has made it much too large for my mini horse (which the original foal size fit perfectly). Just be aware when ordering. Other than this design change, I'm a big fan of Supermasks!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] SuperMask II seems to be one of the standard fly masks. I've found some that I like better (more fitted around the poll) and that hold up longer, but I have no major complaints with the SuperMask II. Better than some, not as good as others.
My OTTB destroys fly masks (or loses them). I keep replacing them. This one is shredded, took him a week! The fleece edging on the lower portion is gone. I like these cause they're not as hot as the Cashel ones. Don't know the solution! He is an active guy & likes to play with his pasture mate.
We go through several a season it seems, and these are effective but the horses are hard on them. We love the new ones we've tried from Noble - they are built tough and seem to last better, though they are at a considerably higher price point. Still, I'd rather pay once and have it last, than pay every month or two for one that the horses have torn up.
I tried a different brand because it was cheaper. You get what you pay for. It was ripped along the seams the very first time I used it. The Velcro is weak. At least it stays off the eyes. I have used worse. I'm sticking with my crusader masks :( lesson learned
Having used SuperMask II's for years, I thought I'd try the new "more protection" style. Unfortunately, this new design moved the velcro attachment forward on the jowl on my horses, making it too easy for the flymask to come off. I can even pull the mas
